Watch it while it's still up. Nothing major, but some new small details.

0:18 - New type of geth or just a geth with yellow armor (Pyro geth?)

0:32 - Varren attacking a soldier, possible combat pet?

0:48 - Cerberus stun baton vs Shepard's pistol whip

    1:07 - Omni-tool powered heavy punch

1:49 - Enemies can flank and use the omni-blade as well.

Also, there was a question in a different thread about where the weapon goes when Shepard use the omni-blade. This video confirms that the weapon simply disappears when he uses the blade. This is not a final build, of course, so it's likely that will change.

Damn, that gameplay is fiiiine. Seems like everything is more dynamic and agile.

Love the pistol whip and the way biotics curve into covering enemies.

Since it doesn't have an UI, I'm willing to bet that it's recorded from a build on a PC.

Anyone else also noticing the way certain powers arc now? I think they added more control to it, probably something as simple as holding down the button and letting go to determine when the power will start turning towards your target. You see it in the bionic power he tosses out, and in another leaked video showing him using the soldier's concussive shot fired in a straight line high above someone in cover, which then drops almost straight down to strike the target.

In ME2, the whole curving powers thing was almost useless since due to lack of control, if the enemy was hiding behind cover, it would always end up hitting the cover unless they were popping out to shoot you, or you were attacking from an angle where it would be better just to shoot them.

Also notice how a bionic power is used against somewhere who is clearly still "armored".

I like the sounds of the rifle and pistol but that shotgun (I think that's what it was) sounded really hollow.   Other than that, yeah that's Mass Effect.

@Vertrucio: I never had any trouble with curving powers in ME2 :/  Anyway, it looks either that they're giving us more control over it, or made it so that the powers automatically avoid cover. I'd prefer the former to the later, but somehow I doubt they've done so. We'll see.

The problem wasn't curving powers, the problem is hitting with those curved powers in conflicts where you are head on against en enemy in cover. The whole point of curving powers is if you're in a head-on fight where both you and your enemy are staring at each other over cover.

Try it. Find and enemy straight ahead of you and in cover. A corner or chest high wall, it doesn't matter. Wait for that enemy to duck behind that cover, you'll still be able to target him, launch your power so that it curves in such a way that you think should his the guy despite him being in cover. That power will still hit the cover. What's worse, area of effect powers will also hit the cover and not take effect.

Now, technically you can get around this by moving slightly to the side of someone around a corner, or get up on a higher position from someone behind a chest high wall. The problem is that if you've moved to such a position, then you're already in a position where simply shooting for straight damage is almost always more efficient.

I honestly think this issue stems from the whole curving powers was a very late addition to the game. Combine that with armor and shields mostly negating any powers, and it really wasn't all that fun to play on veteran or higher difficulties unless you were the soldier, or were willing to exploit every little game quirk to do so.

Going Back to ME2, the combat is pretty damn good still, if they smooth it out a little more it'll be amazing.

I'm sure sometimes it does hit cover. But again, I never had this problem in the game. Aim high enough and the power will go over the cover. I've played the game through five times now and if I'd been having that problem I would have noticed it. Depending on the type of cover, you may need to curve at an angle, but it still worked for me without much trouble. It was working so well for me that I was curving things just because I could, even when I didn't need to.

Pretty sure you've never played a racing game or a shooter running at 30 frames per second, and then played the same game again at 60.  It makes a big difference.

It does seem more agile. You see enemies vaulting over cover and EVERYONE doing a lot of rolling. This is giving me a Gears vibe. I'll be interested to see how much the RPG elements play a role in the final game.

@G3RHRT: Biotic ability curves were in Mass Effect 2. It was integral to playing as an Adept (learning how to bullet-bend them around cover). But they certainly seem so much more snappy and impactful this time around. Very giddy Adept over here.

The developers went overboard with the combat roll. I hope it's only played up for the purposes of the demo; that much rolling in the finished product would be ridiculous.

well, it's new battlefield in the future. NO. just kidding. rolling action gives you much more dynamic combat. I really like it. there are lots of third person shooter games in the market. since mass effect 2 (including ME 3), combat system is one of the best ever I've seen. of course, I really love mass effect 2. I finished it like 35 times.  the game demo is not the finished product. plus, battlefield 3 team has helped weapon improvement & modified stuff for mass effect 3. how much final gold version will change for the game? I can't wait to see it. 8 months are too long.
