Africa

Africa has become a popular setting for video games due to it's expansive landscapes and various environments.
Afterlife

Afterlife is a nightclub located in the mercenary run space station Omega.
Airport

A place where airplanes land and take off, hopefully. Also where food is really, really overpriced, and intrigue always seems around the corner, at least in video games.
Alaska

Alaska is the largest and Northernmost state in the United States. For two cents per acre, it was purchased from the Russians.
Asia

Asia is the largest continent in the world, it spans from part of the Soviet Union all the way down to Indonesia. It goes from Japan to the Middle East.
Bathroom

A room which is devoted entirely to hygiene, containing a toilet and sometimes a sink. Residential bathrooms typically have a shower or bathtub.
Big Shell

The Big Shell is an off-shore cleaning facility disguise for Arsenal Gear.
Bridge

Because some bridges are too large to be considered mere objects.
Camp Omega

An American military base of the cost of Cuba. First location shown for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
Canada

Canada, located in the Northern Hemisphere, is home to some of the biggest gaming companies such as: EA Canada, Bioware, Ubisoft Montreal, Eidos Montreal, and Rockstar Toronto.
Cave

A dark opening in a solid mass, like rock.
Cemetery

A common place in Survival Horror video games. Burial grounds for the deceased. Or zombies.
City

A city is a large and densely populated urban area.
Costa Rica

Costa Rica is located in Central America. It is located to the north of Panama and the south of Nicaragua. Its capital is San Jose which is located in the Central Valley.
Cuba

Island country in the Caribbean.
Cyberspace

Cyberspace is a consensual hallucination of a virtual world accessed through electronic technology and the modulation of electromagnetic energy.
Czech Republic

Country in Europe.
Dream

Games are sometimes set in a character's dream, whether they be the whole game or playable sections.
Earth

The homeworld of Humanity, and a popular vacation destination for galactic travellers in-the-know. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy defines Earth as "mostly harmless."
Europe

Real world setting of many historical, or otherwise, war games.
Forest

A large densely wooded area.
Groznyi Grad

Groznyi Grad is from Metal Gear Solid 3. Means "Formidable fortress" in Russian. Bulit as an impregnable fortress run by Colonel Volgin. A Metal Gear precursor known as the Shagohod was built there.
Jungle

"In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lions sleep tonight."
Marketplace

An outdoor area with a public mercantile establishment.
Microwave Tunnel

As seen in MGS4. Solid Snake struggles down this particular type of tunnel. The player must button mash to help the legendary hero along.
Middle East

The Middle East is a region that spans southwestern Asia and northeastern Africa.
Military Base

Mother Base

The base of operations for Big Boss and Kaz in MGS: Peace Walker, this is the predecessor of Outer Heaven.
New York

New York is the third most populous state in the United States of America. In 1788, it became the eleventh state to join the Union.
New York City

The city that never sleeps. Home to Times Square, Broadway, and the Empire State Building. It is the largest city in the United States.
