Back in the early '90s me and my sister got addicted to a game that came into our local bowling center. We played it all the time since our dad works there. It was a arcade game, one of the few they had there. That game was Metal Slug 2. We could never seem to make it past the second mission due to running out of time or quarters. That game was the one of the first games I really played. I haven't played any since and have always wanted to play some more. When I found out abot Metal Slug Anthology I was stoked. I got a chance to replay Metal Slug 2 and all the rest. What I got out of it was one of the PSP's great titles.

Metal Slug Anthology has all of the Metal Slug games. Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, Metal Slug 6. I started off down the line betting the first then on and on. Metal Slug really impressed the hell out of me. Great action with very little framerate issues. As I got to my nostalgic Metal Slug 2. It was great. Action was fantastic and the visuals were very good. But I couldn't get over the terrible framerate. I don't know if it was just the PSP version but it was terrible. Metal Slug X is pretty much a new version of 2, but with a way better framerate, new enemies and new weapons.

Graphics to me are one of the best on the system. Explosions pop off the screen and look fantastic. For the most part

when a lot of shit happens the framerate holds up fairly well. The huge boss fights go great with almost now skipping. Character models are done very well and look great. When you die, the enemies think you're gone and start laughing. When you fall from the sky to reenter the game, they freak. And that's pretty funny.

Sound is good, not great. The explosions and shooting some good. But the talking and screaming sound muffled and bad. Though it's the PSP so the sound can't always be perfect.

Controls work well. PSP usually have trouble with only the one analog stick. Though you can use either the D-pad or stick to move your character. Square fires and O throws bombs, and X jumps. This all works very well. If it didn't this game would be screwed. I didn't care for the vehicle parts due to some bad controls. The bad controls were in the shooting parts. You had to move forward to shoot forward. I didn't care for that to much. Other then that though, the controls are great.

This is a great game for the PSP or any of the other systems. If you never played any of the Metal Slug games before, pick this up. If you have and are a tad nostalgic for the series, pick this one up.

every metal slug game on one disk. Awesome. 0

when you first put this game in, it becomes clear that metal slug is perfect fit for the PSP. Between the smooth controls and bright vibrant colors displayed on the wide screen, you would that it was a match made in heaven. Sadly, the game is conflicted with one major problem: Load times. While it doesn't take away from the overall action of the game; it still is frustrating especially when you traverse between levels. Even in gameplay, the screen will freeze up every now and again when the acti...
