Dead Space 2 0

Rawr. The first Dead Space holds the spot as my favorite survival horror game ever, and maybe my favorite horror anything. I remember being at home when I played it for over 8hrs straight, and for about 3 of those hours I was home alone in the dark. I was pretty freaked out at that time, always doing a check around the house during tense parts. Looking back on it now, almost 3yrs later, I laugh at that moment. With the arrival of Dead Space 2, I think it's very safe to say that...

Mafia 2 0

Illusion Softworks put out the very first Mafia game back in 2002 for the Xbox, PS2 and PC. It was met with some good reviews, even beating out it’s predecessor, Mafia II. Illusion Softworks has since been bought by 2K and has went through a name change (now called 2K Czech), their first game as 2K Czech is a very good one. Blat blat blat!! Mafia II follows the character Vito Scaletta. A Italian gentlemen who, and like any good mafia story, gets into the wrong crowd, his dad is a drunk and th...

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing 0

Billy's my boy Looking at recent Sonic games, Unleashed, Sonic the Hedgehog, the games have been a little underwhelming. While I personally found somethings to like in Unleashed, it wasn't a good game at all. But there's something about this racing thing that Sega should really keep their eyes on.      If you've played any Mario Kart game you'll know what to expect here. It's a 8 player game with power ups and fucking cute ass  visuals. I've never been too into any racing game, there's ...

Penny Arcade Adventures Numba' 1 0

I'm not the best known fan of the turn based RPG, you'll most likely find me playing a tennis game rather then spend time with a turn based RPG. But after a while of hearing all the good things about the game, and giving the comic series a look I instantly got into it. I bought both Penny Arcade adventures: On the Rain - Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One and Two. And might I say this game did change my thoughts on the turn based genre.   You're in ...

High Velocity Bowling 0

High Velocity Bowling Logo As a avid bowler I've been somewhat saddened by the lack of top quality bowling games. If I had to pick two games that I think are the best, they'd be High Velocity Bowling and Wii Sports Bowling. Yes, I do think this is one of the better bowling games out there, but there is a bunch load of problems that make this title not reach the greatness I think it could have reached.     High Velocity Bowling takes out everything you know about most bowling games...

Doodle Jump 0

There's something I like about Doodle Jump that I can't quite put my finger on. It has an appeal that can't be matched by most iPhone games. The concept is easy enough; you're a alien guy who jumps on platforms and does some occasional shooting. While there isn't much depth there, the .99 cent price easily makes up for that.   Doodle Jump's strengths would be a lot of games disadvantages, like its cutesy graphics, very simple gameplay, no story mode and a very small amount of extra content. But...

Operation Anchorage 0

This is probably the best looking add on by far. Operation Anchorage is sort of a guilty pleasure for me. I heard it was bad and it has some bad moments in it, but damn I enjoyed every minute of it. Operation Anchorage is a very combat heavy add on, not so much as Broken Steel was. What is different between the two is Anchorage just does it better. It goes back to a few enemies at a time, you pop them off then move on it's a proven concept. And it's that basic gameplay that make this game work...

Broken Steel 1

Ah Fallout 3, I've beaten you four times and you keep having me come back for more. The world that Bethesda has made is something that is truly great about Fallout 3 and is what helps it stand out among all other RPG/shooters. The ending is where the game truly shines, I won't spoil it for those who haven't finished it yet but it makes you feel like you did something good for the world, granted you did the good option which I did all four times. Broken Steel is a add on that is meant to exten...

Fallout 3 0

Back in the mid 90s Black Isle created the post apocalyptic series Fallout. It's been eleven years since the release of Fallout 2, and the game has never had a true third title. With Black Isle out of business Bethesda, the makers of Oblivion and oddly many bowling games, took over the Fallout series. In the Black Isle games it was a point and click, PC, turn based RPG. Bethesda turned it all around making it more of a shooter, and more of a first/thi...

Fat Princess 2

Blood! I'll come out and say it, Fat Princess was the reason I got my PS3. When I first set eyes on it in Giantbomb's QL of it I knew I had to play this game, and I finally have. What I could never have suspect was to find such a fantastic game full of violence and strategy. Fat Princess was developed by Titan Studio s, Fat Princess was their first game and they made a hell of a first impression.   When I first looked at this game I thought it was a ...

LittleBigPlanet 0

The Pod. I'll admit I didn't see what the big deal was with LittleBigPlanet when it came out, I saw reviewer after reviewer giving it 5/5 or 10/10 and still wasn't sold. That might have to do with the fact that I didn't own a PS3 at the time and was kind of jealous. It wasn't until I got onto Giantbomb and saw the LittleBigPlanet Quick Look that the game really hit with me. I have spent a good amount of time with the game since I have gotten and it haven't taken it out of my PS3 in ab...

Linger in Shadows 3

What the fuck is Linger in Shadows? It's a like a game, but you don't do anything. Linger in Shadows is a demoscene. A demoscene is usually a non interactive video that shows visuals and plays music. Yes, Linger in Shadows is one but it goes off that path. It's a demoscene that you interact with, which is where it differs. The devs Plastic have made a hell of a downloadable game.   I'm a big fan of the art style There's really no story to speak of in Linger in Shadows. I guess you could say ...

Metal Slug Anthology 0

Back in the early '90s me and my sister got addicted to a game that came into our local bowling center. We played it all the time since our dad works there. It was a arcade game, one of the few they had there. That game was Metal Slug 2. We could never seem to make it past the second mission due to running out of time or quarters. That game was the one of the first games I really played. I haven't played any since and have always wanted to play some more. When I found out abot Metal Slug An...

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction 2

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Logo Easily one of the best looking games on the PS3.On November 4, 2002 developer Insomniac made a platformer called Ratchet & Clank. Though I never played those, this is my second game in the Ratchet & Clank universe. I played Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters before this, and I liked it. It was a pretty good platformer. My expectations for this game were a little even. I wasn't expecting a lot and I wasn't expecting a bad game. What I ...

Sonic Unleashed 0

Sonic Unleashed Logo Running and running and running and....Back in 1991 Sega released the very first Sonic game. It was met with big success. It also gave Sega a good mascot that could rival Nintendo's mascot. Jumb 18 years later and Sonic is still one of Segas top sellers and I would say biggest star. Though the Sonic Team has not put out many good ones here in the last couple of years. With Sonic Unleashed, their most recent release, they hit some very high points. But some how it's a mix of...

Bionic Commando 0

GRIN isn't the biggest name out there. They are probably more well know for their early PC games. For those of you who don't know, GRIN was founded in 1997 by brothers Bo and Ulf Andersson. They are located in Sweden. Bionic Commando is the sequel to the 1988 game of the same name. The final result isn't perfect. But it gives you one of the best experiences of 2009. I did a lot of this while playing Bionic Commando. No, it's acutally GRIN's logoSo the story. You play as Nathan "Rad" Spencer. T...

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters 0

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters was the first game i got for my PSP. Prett much only because it came with the game. It is also my first Ratchet and Clank game. Though it might not be the best game to start out with for this franchise i did find it enjoyable, at times. example of the combatSo the story.  The game starts out with Ratchet and Clank relaxing on a island resort type of deal. While they are relaxing,  a girl named Luna comes up and asks them if she can take some pictures. While you a...

inFAMOUS 0

Cole McGrath, probably the coolest bike courier ever. He stars in Sucker Punch's new game inFAMOUS. While Cole might have a weird day job, he ends up being in one of the best games of '09. grrrrrrSo the story. Like I said before, you play as Cole. A bike courier who gets a package, his last package! No actually it just destroys the whole city. Leaving Cole in the middle of the chaos. As you leave the site of the blast, you gain electical powers. Like most games right now, this game has a karma ...

Prince of Perisa 0

When i first found out about the new Prince of Persia game, i saw a trailer for it on tv. It had the song Breath Me by Sia, its a good song. First I thought, if they are making a new game, where is the old prince? Well in Ubisofts newest adventure in the Prince of Persia series, it starts off with new setting, character, and new acrobatics. I welcomed this change. I was a fan of the other games. But one thing Ubisoft did was totally redid the series. The last two games in the "Sands" trilogy wh...

Battlefield: Bad Company 0

Battlefield: Bad Company I have a problem with war games, i think they try to make themselves to serious. Yes war isnt something to joke about. But i always wanted to see some humor in them, to add a little comic relief. Its something that has always turned me away from war games, ive only played one war game, and never finished it. When i picked up Battlefield: Bad Company, i  was hoping it would be what i wanted in a war game, or just a game in general. These are what i like in any game, and...

has sooooooooo many problems..but at times its fun 0

i havnt played a MLB 2K game since MLB 2K6. I went and played MLB: The Show for the '07 and '08 gameing seasons. This game is no where near where MLB 2K6 was, i really enjoyed that game. It went "deep" into francise mode, and the francise mode in MLB 2K9 is really nothing. In 2K6 you were the manager, and the GM and owner told you what they wanted you to do, like sign a certain player, release a certain player, make a certain amount of money etc. There is none of that in this game, which i miss,...

solid shooting pulls the game past its unmotivated story 0

i had no expactations for F.E.A.R 2, i never played the first one, but i read up on it so i know what was going on...this game takes place, maybe thirty mins before the first ended..you play as Michael Becket and you and your squad are trying to stop Genevieve Aristide and Colonel Vanek which are attacking the city..the game starts out with you having a hallucination of a destroyed city (major foreshadowing), and you see Alma (the supernatural girl from the first, she continues to make things go...

GAME OF THE YEAR!!..i didnt studder 0

yeah thats right i said it GAME OF THE YEAR..and really i dont care what you guys think, i loved this game flawed game, heres why...i love this game looks, it is the most oddly stunningly beautiful game i have played since Prince of Perisa (the new one)..they both have that painted look which i love, and a reason why the new Prince of Persia is one of my favorite games i ever played..the environments are lush and beautiful, characters look great..even though they have the same ones show over and...

my first RTS is a great experience 0

i have never played a RTS before..i dont know why..they just never seemed to interest me..but i decided to try one out..so i  picked up Sid Meier's Civilization Revolutionand i must say..i really really need to play more RTS's..its a great great game..everything moves easily, some little control issues when trying to pick where to go, but thats mainly it..the menus are very easy to follow and they tell you very clearly what each one of them doyour goal in this game is to start a civilzation and ...

cool idea...but falls short 0

Well D3 tried..ill give them that..the graphics are steller..and takes a good amount of gameplay off of Gears of War..the basic story to this game is that you play as Hayden (the emo government agent) and you are sent to the fake country of Lasria..and there seems to be some sort of virus spreading throught the country..and like most games..your job is to stop it before it spreads..kinda like RE4..at the start it plays just like a normal shooter..you duck in and out of cover and this works very ...

a reason why i do not want to be a engineer 0

so is dead space scary?...no not at all..but it does do a hell of a job at being suspenceful..there was no time at all where i jumped or was afraid to go through a door, but i did find myself constently checking my ammo and health before i enter a room..the game does a great job at making you do those kinds of things..and the anticipation of what is behind the next door or room is what sets the mood for this game.the mood for this game is DARK..very rarly do you see a room fully lit..and if that...

action clichés 0

ok..this was the first game i got for my wii..i loved it..very gory..good cartoony graphics..and i LOVED the action clichés..with the town name of Santa Destroy and the main characters name Travis Touchdown..and all the way to the way you start fights are great clichés and they are funny..and this game is very funny..and im a sucker for funny games..but the one thing i didnt like is how easy it was..almost all the bosses are super easy..except for the the last two bosses who are quite tough..thi...

i never die 0

i am a big fan of the prince of persia series...and really i have to give a huge pat on the back to Ubisoft Montreal for completely changing a amazing francise..its a very risky move..i know a lot of people are probably thinking its a really really bad idea..but they do a very good job with Prince of Persia..its kinda rare..when you rewrite a francise and its good..in the old PoP they sent like 6-10 guys at a time at you..but in the new PoP..you get only one at a time..and most of the time you c...

boy..i do love this game!!!..i kinda like it to much..ive spent some well wasted hours on it..i love all the side stuff..but some of them are soooooo boring..that kinda sucks..i love the dark dark humor you can find in this game..one thing i did not like is how a lot of the details look the same..almost all the metro stations look the same..they could have put more effort into that..but i know i know thats a small complaint..i VERY much like the main story..its what i think is a movie type story...
