Has anyone found it for cheaper in Canada? Maybe the standard that is $59? I hate it when retailers try to get that $10 extra dollars from you.

    @RE_Player92: I've already asked.

EB has a deal where if you trade in 1 game, you get it for $49.99, trade in 2 and get it for $19.99 (which is what I did). The trade-in games have to be over $8 of trade-in value though.

But yeah... looks like Canada gets screwed again.

ah that really sucks. I complain about video game prices a lot, but I guess I should be thankful I'm not in Canada or Australia.

Not only that, but its the publishers that set the prices, not the stores. That's why Lair was still selling for $60 bucks long after it came out. It sure wasn't because stores were keeping it at that price because it was such a hot seller. But some publishers are quick to drop prices. EA and Ubisoft are usually the most reliable for price drops on games after a couple of months.

There are the occaisional exceptions. There were a few games that Walmart sold for $40 for the first 3 days of release. I remember them doing it for Batman: AA, Borderlands and Just Cause 2. I don't know if they've done that recently, but it did force other major chains to make the same discount for that period

All I know is that EA has been the only publisher in Canada to consistently put out every one of their new games at $69.99. My clueless brother was cussing about it when Madden 11 came out yet the idiot still went ahead and forked over the money. Stupid Madden zombie.

They should change the name from mortal kombat to rental kombat for the canadian version. No way i'm paying that much for a game.

Best bet is to wait a couple or three weeks post release for a retailer sale. Amazon tends to drop $20 of the suggested retail price around that time. And since this isn't as mainstream as say a COD entry, chances are you won't be miles behind the competition by that point.

Yeah, but we live right across the border. I don't see any reason to raise the prices at all.

What the fuck? Even Best Buy have the prices at $69.99, which, from my experience, is unusual since they usually have the U.S. prices for games for us Canadians. Well, the publishers really just want to screw us over, then. Our currency is so similar to the USD that there's really no good reason for the $10 more.

@RE_Player92: It isn't the retailers! WB sets this price. The change back to 59 was forced on most companies because of the strong dollar. Some don't let it go and want more money.

The cheapest I've seen so far is at $64.99 from Toys R Us.  Not sure if it's the in store price too but from their web site, it displays this price as a pre-order online:
    http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=11393905
    http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=11393904

Video Game Plus has it at 59.99 from their web site:

I might sit down on this and wait for a price drop to 59.99 if the above doesn't turn out to be true.

I'm gonna buy it for 69.99. Shelf it, and not play it until long after it's available used for 25 beans.

That's odd, I'm Canadian and I bought Dead Space 2 for $59.99 the week it was released at EB.

But yeah, it kind of sucks that some games here are $69 and others are $59. But there's not really much you can do about it.

Video game plus has it for 60. But yeah I'm add WB to my list of publishers that can eat a cock.

Microsoft, EA, and WB. So far those are the ones I've noticed that somehow think their games are worth more then everyone elses.

Wow, I wouldn't buy games if they were 69.99.  Just buy it second hand in a few weeks.  I hardly ever pay 59.99 for games in the US.  I usually wait 6 months and play the big names at 19.99 or 29.99.  Its worked well so far.

The worst example of this I've seen is Alan Wake. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a $70 Alan Wake on the shelf next to a $60 RDR should have their head examined.

I know other countries have it worse then us but considering our dollar is doing better then the US dollar right now, the fact that we pay more is straight up buuuuuuull shit.

@RE_Player92: i don't think it's the retailers. that's just the suggested price for canada. i'm pretty sure all sony published games, for example, are $60 new. i think some publishers see that countries outside the u.s. are just used to paying more, so they feel like they can get away with stealing an extra few dollars from you. at this point, i feel like canadians should be boycotting the $70 price on games, because there is no reason for it besides greed.

With exchange rates the way they are right now (Candian dollar more valueable by about 3.5 cents), it's actually cheaper to order it from Amazon.com and pay shipping and import fees than it is to go to a local store and buy it.

    Fucking bullshit.

Toys R Us has the game listed at 64.99. Futureshop gives a price match and 10% discount on things if you can prove someone else has them cheaper. Take a Toys R Us flier to Futurestop, get game for $58 with free steelbook and enjoy.
