Hey guys, So I'm not the best MK player, but which movement control do you prefer in fighting games? Out of comfort, and as a throwback ot the SNES, I use the D-Pad. What do you guys think?

I generally, go d-pad because the last time I played an MK game was the PS1. Also after playing the demo I just prefer the d-pad because its easier to pull off moves.

D-pad haven't been able to play the demo because I have a 360. I have never played MK on a stick I wish I had a stick for SF though...

I tried my fight stick with the demo, It's not really a good fit. I would just use a d-pad.

D-pad all the way. I can't reliably pull off moves with the joystick.

What console are you playing on?

The PS3's D-pad works well enough for me.

I use a stick for street fighter but a D-pad seems fine for MK. There aren't any quarter circle or dragon punch motions it's mostly stuff like; down, down, back, punch. So I think it will be easier to play this on a pad then street fighter.

The d-pad works pretty good then again I'm getting the game for the 360 and i think the d-pad on the 360 controller is much worse than on the PS3.  I'm gonna try using the fight stick but if that doesn't feel good I may pick up the new 360 controller with the better d-pad

Still have one of the Blanka themed gamepads from SF & as the demo hasn't hit the 360 as far as I know, I'll try that out first then the normal 360 controller. Depending on the prices & availability of the stick I might consider it but just depends on how well the other two work out while playing it.

If you're a pad player, you really can't get any better then the SNES pad....it's the best ever imo

However, unless you have a SNES converter for Xbox or PSN modded, it's unlikely you'll find one on the retail market.

But I'm the same way, lol so I search for the most SNES like xbox pads/hori pads made by M$ or even that new disc pad which works well. Then there's the razer pad which I hear isn't bad.

Now if you're a stick player, your  best bet is for the TE MK stick that comes with the TE game for sure or a stick ordered from AIAB(ArcadeinABox.com)

They use the same american HAPP parts that the TE stick is made out of :)

Me personally, I'm more of a pad player but I'm getting the TE stick because of not just the beauty of it but it's EXACTLY the same parts, layout of the classic MK arcade cab sticks in the 90's. So I want to be versatile and be able to play on both :)

Analog stick on the normal 360 controller. I would use the d-pad, but I hate it on the normal controller.

I always try to use the D-Pad for fighting games because on the Joystick I just find it impossible, but I got the demo on the PS3 and I love the joypad on that, unfortunatly I'm getting MK on the 360 because its what the majority of my friends play on...

gonna have to get used to the 360s sucky D-Pad which is in a terrible location compared to the PS3 :D

Used my SFIV TE stick with the MK demo on PS3, worked pretty well. But i would say using the Dpad for that game would be equally as good.

Dpad. If I used the Joystick I always end up jumping more than I should. If I could I would use a Stick, but a Dpad is good enough for me. Plus it's easier on me because of my Nintendo and Sega games of playing the classic MK games.

D-Pad for fighting games, though I have trouble with characters like Zangief because it's hard form me to make full rotations without jumping.
