How will block work
yea, it's been awhile since I've had to hold a block button down for a 2D type fighter. Soul Calibur did it, but was more suited towards it since the movement was 3D
yea I always found it difficult to hold block down in mortal kombat because of the really quick pace, and odd special moves that you sometimes need to block on reaction.
lol the only fighting games i have ever really played were DOA/deadliest warrior
and alot of MK64(the good one)
so im incredibly use to play a game with a block button but i see why its gonna be weird for you guys @_@ i tried playing MVC 2 once and holy crap pushing back to block felt so foreign and incredibly weird to me
Trying to go back and play MK after having not done so in a few years, I got my ass handed to me about 20 times before I realized that Block was a button in those games. Crazy.
I like block buttons better. Just feels better to me than having it be the same thing used to move backwards.

although I don't like the idea of a button for block, it kinda would make more sense for 2 people battling it out. You should be able to have precise blocks to block your opponents precise attacks. Rather then holding back as just a reaction and it happening automatically. Having it as a button makes it more dynamic.
Wow, I thought block buttons were the norm. I didn't start playing the Vs. Capcom games until recently and played way more MK than SF as a kid too. A dedicated button seems way more intuitive to me than hitting back. Has SF always been back to block, even in the SF2 days?

Just holding back vs. having to press a specific button...I know which seems easier to me.
and yeah SF has always been hold back to block .

On Marvel for instance, thank fuck there's no block button. It's hard enough to block the amount of mix-ups in that game as it is, let alone punish some stuff on reaction. (if you're playing somebody that is actually half-decent)
