The guy who Founded Namco in 1955 and dubbed 'Father of Pac-man' has died aged 91. Here's his wiki page on Giant Bomb, although it is quite sparse.

The Japanese government had awarded him the "Order of the Rising Sun", a high honor, for his contribution to Japanese industry. He was also inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame in 2010.

That's a pretty fair age. Order of the Rising Sun also sounds badass.

Yeah, I saw a few tweets from Japanese devs referencing this, sounds like he was a good guy.

This info is currently on his wikipedia page, which is where any articles saying as such would be getting it from, but it's not true. The source in the wiki article also just leads to a photo of some concept art of Gigas from Tekken 7.

Didn't know about him, but he directly led to a whole lot of good video games, then. RIP
