The Miami Heat won. I saw some of it. It was alright.. 'Alot of back and forth. 'Felt like a 'Finals basketball game should. And wings were had.
Thoughts?
It was murder. :(

I wouldn't have really cared either way, but Tim Duncan's eyes looked so sad. Kinda wish the Spurs would've won.
Where did the Lakers end off?
That was pretty much the last time i cared about sports
When Lakers were in the finals
I think it was 2007?
Also is Lebron in the Heat and is this his 1st Championship?
@bigjeffrey: Ahh.. I don't even know. Phil Jackson left, and now Kobe's ankle is pretty fucked. So..?
Fuck it. Bring back football. Less BS. No flopping, no super teams, no ejections for laughing, and thankfully no velociraptors. Less Europeans though, which has its plusses and minuses.
And poor Tim Duncan. He always looks pretty sad/tired, but after he missed that shot he looked extra sad/tired.
I like how people are disregarding the spoiler tags. YOU'RE RUINING IT FOR EVERYONE!
I enjoyed the series. I haven't been into basketball since the Hornets left for NO, but I got back into watching the playoffs when I was in a hospital for two weeks six years ago and it was the only thing on. Regular season can still go fuck itself, though, except for Christmas day, because Jesus and basketball.
Baseball, though. Now that's a sport that cares.
Best Finals since 2005 so certainly happy about that; the regular season is more interesting if Miami repeats, though I do very much appreciate the style of ball that the Spurs play.
@wjb: Fortunately you could've been in the hospital for over 2 months and the playoffs would still have been going.
@fredchuckdave: Yeah, what's up with that? I haven't paid attention, I guess, but when did the NBA Finals become this month-long event? I almost forgot certain games would be on because three days would pass in-between.
I vaguely remembered the season would be over during the first week of June because I always associated it with my birthday.
Haha, absolutely. My father and I call him Pumpkinhead. He also kind of looks like a Xenomorph. Whatever he is, he's one weird looking motherfucker.
Also, no. I mean, the Heat obviously has a bunch of super-talented players, but I'm just sick of hearing about them already.
@breadfan: Gotta disagree with you there. They are stacked, but that was the best Final in years. They damn near lost the thing if it weren't for that miracle shot by Ray Allen.
I root for the West every year. And if there's anything I hate seeing more in the NBA than the East win the Finals, it's seeing a great player with no loyalty win it. Dwight Howard could end up being worse than LeBron in that case... I also wanted the spurs to win because they are a class act team. No flashy PR stunts, no attention drawing, no BS on the court, just a great core of players that have stayed together throughout their career with a great coach and consistent success year in, year out.
I don't like that they won but only because my brother thought they would win. Now he's going to have a big head about how he's some sort of genius for calling what amounts to a 50% chance of being right. If he was so smart he would get a job instead of thinking this game would change his life. I can't respect anyone who worships celebrities.
Being a die hard Lakers fan and of course i wanted them to win. But since the Spurs beat them and i was still an NBA fan i kept watching and wanted the Warriors to win (Curry/Thomson: Super Splash Brothers). Then the Spurs beat them and so i wanted the Grizz to win. They ended up loosing to the Spurs so i ended up having to root for the Spurs since i still want to rep the west. But of course the Heat beat them...
*sigh* I just want the LeBron circle jerk to leave as quickly as his hairline. Here's to next year Lakers fans.
I do not like that team, but the game was at least interesting. A compelling NBA Finals.
Game 6 just really bothered me. To me, it gave far too much credence to those who allege that some NBA games are rigged. And the referees are just about a joke in the NBA. For the sport with possibly the smallest playing field, it somehow has the most inconsistent officiating. For them to rather obviously not call the same fouls in the last few minutes that they called earlier in the game is an embarrassment, and it made the referees out to basically be accomplices to the Heat's comeback win in Game 6.
I'm disappointed that they won, but then, I've never been a particularly big fan of the Spurs either. So, I'm not exactly going to cry about it.
@jazzycola: You know what though, the Spurs fucking shot themselves in the foot releasing Stephen Jackson before the playoffs. You just can't drop your 4th or 5th best player on the team who makes nearly $10 million a year and expect to win the finals.
With Jackson on the floor they would have had much needed perimeter defense against the three which he specializes. Spoelstra saw this and took advantage of it. Parker and Ginobilie can't guard the three and neither can Diaw or Leonard.

Jackson has been AWFUL this year. Hardly the 4th or 5th best player on the team.
@jiggajoe14: He was still getting paid $10 mil a year on the last year of his contract, he was the third highest paid player behind Parker and got paid more than Duncan when he negotiated a new contract.
While his stats weren't great this year he would've been a better perimeter defender than fat Boris Diaw who could only use his weight to clog the paint.
The Spurs lost this series. They had so many opportunities to wrap it all up but didn't. The Heat don't have any loyalty, but the Spurs didn't seem to have any consistent drive or emotion until it was too late. F the Heat for winning, but most of the Spurs starting roster already has some hardware (3-4 rings). I would feel worse about them winning if it was OKC or Memphis playing them.
Lebron is too good, last season his weakness was jump shots, in the off season did nothing but work on his jump shot and tonight it probably won them the game. He is probably the greatest all round player of all time if he keeps it up.
Don't give any fucks about sports-ball.
Yet clicks on a forum about sport and comments in it...
I'm pretty disappointed that I couldn't watch any off the games because they start at 3AM here in norway and by the end of the 1st or 2nd quarter I would be asleep. And to answer your question, no I don't like that the Heat won, I would rather want Duncan to get a championship trophy. I guess the T-Mac curse is still alive, hah.
No not really, I can't stand seeing a cocky home crowd get what they want, unless its my home team lol

You know he already has four, right?
