    NCAA Football 12 Review

It is another year and EA has pumped out another, updated version, of their game NCAA Football. In this one you'll of course expect to have superior play from last year, and of course the updated rosters for all the teams. There will of course be the online play, dynasty mode, mascot match-up, and Road to Glory mode for you to play around with.

Graphically this game is on par with all the previous titles, and you can easily see that the game's developers still don't give a hoot about the crowd as they have become more abstract looking unless the camera calls for a close up shot of the crowd.

The voices of the game have basically stayed the same with small little changes so that the big name players' names can be pronounced correctly. You're going to get a lot of Brad Nessler and Kirk Herbstreit, so if you like those announcers you shouldn't have an issue with the commentary.

The controls have also stayed constant, which is always a good thing, there's nothing like an annual game that decides to re-map all the controls. You'll have the use of almost all the buttons, so use them well.

Now is the point in the review where I really give you exactly what to expect from this years game. You're going to see some serious glitches in places, and you're going to see that the overall game hasn't change really all that much with the exception of the roster and stat updates. On of the biggest glitches has been trying to run a no huddle offense the game will physically stall out for a couple of seconds before jumping back into the action. There's also the fact that instant replays will cancel out your no huddle the majority of the time. There's also the glitch when you're playing Road to Glory and you're the back up QB so you only go in to be the holder for kicks. The system will get confused and will call PATs, field goals and visa versa. There's also a serious lack of penalties. Yes I know there such a thing as a penalty-less game, but seriously, an entire season with one offsides call for either side is a bit ridiculous. I do have to give the game one thing, and that's it really makes you work as a QB, you're not going to have as easy a time just throwing the ball up and waiting for someone to catch it. The defense AI feels like its been revamped and better than it has been in the past.

If you're looking for the latest College Football game, you're going to pick this game up. If you're looking for the best College Football game, you might want to go back a year, and just suffer through the not so up-to-date rosters, or you can manually update them yourself. There are people, whose passion is simply updating the rosters as well as adding in every player's name. This version gets a 6.5 out of 10.
