    Nintendo DS

    Platform »

The Nintendo DS is a handheld featuring two screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen. Four different models are available: the original DS, the DS Lite, the DSi, the DSi XL.

Should i buy a current DS model, or wait for a new Nintendo handheld?

Depends on how set you are on playing DS games.  If you can wait, then wait I guess.

The DS is great, and I highly recommend it. There are so many great DS games available that every gamer should own one. That said, My gut says "wait until E3". See what Nintendo's new handheld will be, and if it is backwards compatible and looks to be worth the price, I'd spend money on games in preparation for that console's release. I don't think you can really go wrong either way, however.

Yes, just go with a DSi or if you don't see the need for any download games, go for the DSLite.  You won't regret it as you will be playing awesome games for years to come yet - by that I mean, the back catalogue.

I bought a DS Lite because I still like to play my old GBA games. I would suggest going with that.

I'd say you get one, there's enough DS games out there that you'd probably be using it for a while even if a new handset came out, and the games would probably go cheaper.

It's going to be a long wait if you choose to wait for the next Nintendo handheld.
