Hey everyone. I got a new computer and after being away from PC gaming since middle school (about 2008). I've been playing some recent stuff like PUBG, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 (that campaign tho), and Into the Void to test out my machine and I'm interested to hear what you all think are some games from the last 5 years you would recommend for me to check out. I'm open to any and all suggestions, my machine is pretty good and I'm open to any genre you can recommend. I don't have VR (*Yet*), so that's out of the picture. Have fun with it and thanks for your time.

The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
What are some games from the last 5 years that I should play on PC?
Are you asking for exclusives or just ones that supposedly put your PC through its paces? Most of the time first person shooters are the games that many people talk about when it comes to lookers, so maybe as mentioned, Doom 2016. I would add Metro Redux and Crysis 3. Crysis 1 if you've never played or tried that. Heck, it'd be one of the first games I'd play through again if I had a really good PC.
Wolfenstein II, Metro Redux, RE 7, Prey, Path of Exile, Shadow of Mordor, Dishonored 2, Hitman, Doom, Alien Isolation, Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Pillars of Eternity.
Go nuts.
- Skyrim with ENB mod + visual enhancements. It really is magical how different that game can look (and feel) from the vanilla version (+also ENB can really test your GPU power).
- Kerbal Space Program with visual overhaul mods can also deliver some amazing visuals with rare type of game play.
- My Summer Car has ability to burn down your sauna, you can assemble your car from scratch and you can fully experience magic of summer as it was in the 90's rural Finland.
Extra tip: keep eye out for Humble Bundle, you can score some great games for dirt cheap there.
I made a thread similar to this here. You might find some crossover
Metal Gear Solid 5, Dota2 , Starcraft 2, Undertale, Hitman, Dark Souls games, Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2, Ori & the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight, Hacknet, Technobabylon, GTA V.
If you like simulation/base building/automation games and want every spare second of your time to be sucked into a void, Factorio is waiting for you. It even has a demo on Steam, though I only had to watch the trailer to know it was for me. Also DOOM - might be the best FPS of all time. Enjoy the new rig.
Indies have really exploded in the past few years. A couple super unique ones only on PC, off the top of my head:
Papers Please
Her Story
Gunpoint
Sunless Sea
Card Hunter
Into The Breach
Pony Island
Stephen's Sausage Roll
Offworld Trading Company
The Yawhg
I have a million to recommend, but for coherencies sake ill just recommend dead cells and the surge, which are both on sale for less than 15 on steam and have lots of content
