I saw someone having set up  a triple-screen setup with those. DAT FUNKY. Although I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those.

it would take some real horsepower to run something at a resolution that looks good on that thing at an acceptable framerate.

The monitors were actually made by Ostendo.  Alienware just stuck their logo on it.  You can buy them here, at Ostendo's website.  If you can afford the $6400.00 price tag.

Damn, if only the price was lower and if computer hardware was powerful enough to run games on that thing (at a decent framerate).

@bunnyboiler: They're still in prototype production by many corps. Asus has one, alienware another, ATI and Nvidia are both working on theirs. the technology may or may not be available to the masses. it seems they're not sure of the function or marketibility of them.

That thing must cost a pretty penny, not to mention what's powering it. Yikes!

I'm betting it came down to a who has the money to afford a PC and this monitor at the same time.  I would bet one day we will see these come out, but it might be a long time from now.

Holy crap, $6400 for that monitor? If I had that much money, I might buy it though.
