That's it. I have to get a Vita. There's no way I can get the PS2 version, knowing that this is floating out there.

I feel the exact same way. And here I was all ready to plop down money for a copy on ebay. Oh well, I guess patience is a virtue or some crap like that.
Augh. I have the PS2 version, but never finished it. (I'm in the same predicament with P3:FES and P3P for the PSP.) What. Do. I. Do?!
I played the hell out of the original and even though you get to see the gang in sweet skiing gear, I think I'll be able to live without it.
Now quit dicking around and give us Persona 5 damnit!
@FluxWaveZ: I just heard they were teasing something for the next issue of Famitsu so fingers crossedn

They've been working on it and they've teased in the latest Famitsu that they'll announce it in 2012 so expect a 2013-2014 release for Persona 5 in North America.
Also: Hashino isn't directing P4:The Golden. Itou is.

So yeah, 2 years after the endurance run ended you mention still not having picked up a copy of P4 (a 10$ title) and in the same breath manage to state you will be buying a 300$ handheld just for the P4 experience.
Edit not to be a jerk, but this was probably the most outrageous claim ive seen all day
I'll buy the Vita version since I loved playing the original P4. Also excited for P5 (even though not much is revealed as of now).
I am almost aroused by all these additions. Almost. Regardless, shut up and take more of my money now, Atlus! Just take it all!
I think the most interesting bit of info here is that the ski event takes place in January. Have they added a full new month to the game? And if so... a new dungeon?

He didn't watch the Endurance Run. His first exposure to P4 is through the anime. And frankly, I can't blame anyone for wanting to wait until the Vita version comes out to play the game because of all of the new content.
New Personas? Susano-O looks a bit goofy as he was so an afro is no biggie, he can't look further away from his depiction in earlier games. So will these shiny new Persona's replace their evolved forms as they were or are these simply an additional third option?

I'm not too sure a ski trip makes this as much of an "instant buy" as it does for others here. Really, after the confirmation of no female protagonist I found myself deflated on the project. I might still buy it, but I won't buy a Vita for it like I bought a PSP for P3P.
It seems all that what you would want from the game is a female protagonist and without one you wouldn't be getting it regardless of what they would add.
@Beforet: What you would want from it doesn't matter to me. However, I think it's unfair to point out specific things people are excited for in the new title and say that that's not enough incentive for you when your mind is set on a single, missing element that you would want to be there.

Well it's not. Sorry for saying so.
Oh man. I keep telling myself I won't buy a Vita.. but man.
MAN.
This is changing my mind. Never got a chance to play Persona 4. Watched the ER twice, and still would absolutely love to play this.

It sounds like the latter, based on a Tumblr translation I read.
The plot of P4 wouldn't work nearly as well with a female protagonist; to many events work as they do because the protagonist is male. Too much would have to be changed to get a female protagonist to work.I'm not too sure a ski trip makes this as much of an "instant buy" as it does for others here. @mutha3: That's a pretty swag-ass afro, I'll admit. Do we have any idea what triggers the "Tier 3" personas, or do they just replace the old evolutions?
@Hailinel: Yeah I know, but it's still kind of a bummer. I guess it just shows how much the writing improved from P3 to P4 that they can't make major changes like that on a dime. Still, a bummer none the less.

This is probably true. The characters in p4 have way more defined roles and positions in their relationships-- changing the gender just wouldn't work, without some serious rewriting. The characters in P3 were distant enough that this was a non-issue
(Example: Look at Yosuke, now keep in mind what his relationship with the Protagonist is like-- now imagine if the protagonist was a girl.)
Shame this is only coming for the Vita... cos there's no chance I'm ever gonna play it unless it comes out elsewhere.
Was it ever said if they were making a US release for Persona 4: the Golden? From the last I had heard they were only doing a Japan release/version D:
Though I guess it makes sense that they would anyway even if it hasn't been confirmed yet, I think there is actually a pretty sizeable Persona fanbase in the US.
