Yeah...happened to me right as i was about to get my GoW2 Platinum.  my trophies didn't unlock, so of course i reset my PS3.  And all that got my was a corrupted heavy rain dynamic theme and my GoW2 trophies are no where to be found...god dammit.

Also getting this. Worst timing ever, I'm maybe half an hour away from beating Heavy Rain and it won't even let me play it because it can't verify my trophies.

Sooo, it's only affecting the fatty PS3's, it's affecting themes, trophies, saved data, and the playability of games in general.....and Sony seems to be clueless about it, since they "need to look into it". Yeah, things are definitely looking up..

well fuck. and to think i bought a PS3 fat on purpose (went to the store 2 weeks before the slim came out and bought a ps3, then went back and asked for the difference once the slim came out,lol) 
good thing the only games i have for it are the GOW collection, inFamous, and arkham asylum. Most of my games are on my 360, so as long as this isn't permanent I don't mind.

This. I find it hard to belive that in this day and age a large company like Sony, who have the consumer base that they do, can't (or don't bother to) inform their users of such a massive error as this. That's assuming they saw this coming, which is worse if they didnt.. "

That is pretty strange.  Hopefully this shit will be fixed soon.  I haven't checked my PS3 to see if I'm getting the issue as well, but I probably will.

Though i did get the recent update, it was installed on one of the games (i cant remeber which one) i played.

as a guy that works on servers quite regularly i can contribute to this line of thought. This really strikes me as one of two things.  1: Mr. Dudeman pulls the wrong plug, pushes the wrong button or changes the wrong piece of data at the wrong time. BOOM! Sony HQ explodes.  2: Software error in the server's make up or sony's proprietary trophy software (which seems more likely as all the PS3s of a specific model have all died on the exact same day and date.  my guess, they didn't account for all possible variables (which considering the amount of skus out there for these consoles isn't too surprising) and it backfired causing nuclear fallout accross the world. "

Well I'm pretty sure my case is unique. I have not connected my ps3 to the internet since mid january, I have never had this error code before, and I have never had to connect to the internet to play a game. my date and time were reset which I thought weird so I'm assuming that something was on the disc that reset it. I'm just wondering why the fuck this is happening to me when I havent been connected to the psn in over a month. I'm also wondering if I will have to connect to fix this problem..oh and I put in my  batman: AA game and the error code shoewd up but I was still able to play...so yea?

Geez, I leave for a bit and this topic gets nearly 6000 views. To the point, GB is 11th on google for this topic.  Any update on the situation? I am afraid of turning on my PS3 and losing my trophies like some other users.

I don't know if anyone posted this. It gives a little insight as to whats going on. I have yet to start up my PS3 to check it.

In my experience, these errors never last too long.
