I love this site even though I don't have an Xbox 360. I put up with their heavy-handed bias towards Microsoft's console but earlier today I apparently crossed the line.

Dared to defend PS3 - got blocked by Ryan on Twitter
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I didn't know he was actually blocking the people he responded to with "Blocked" though...
That's why I just avoid the whole Twitter thing altogether.
I put up with their heavy-handed bias towards Microsoft's console but earlier today I apparently crossed the line.BLOCKED
" They have thousands of followers and people that tweet to them. For them blocking somebody is nothing and is the funniest thing to do (it is) "Also, this. It's not like it's a personal attack, Ryan just does that all the time because it's sort of funny.
From Ryan's GB page, via Twitter.
" From Ryan's GB page, via Twitter. That's actually pretty hilarious." Upside of PSN debacle: easy to identify, block Sony Defense Force."Personally I don't get the use of twitter at all. Then again I'm not important enough to tweet, nor do I care about other's comments on twitter."
" I love this site even though I don't have an Xbox 360. I put up with their heavy-handed bias towards Microsoft's console but earlier today I apparently crossed the line.I should probably e-mail this to Rocco of Mega-64 fame. You just pulled a Shakespeare .Ryan tweeted and asked if the PSN outage "cross-cancels the RRoD thing"I tweet back at him that "Not playing online =/= not playing at all," and then he blocked me.I don't want this to be the thing that makes me not want to come to Giantbomb anymore, but I can't help but feel a bit bitter towards Ryan."

This thread has reminded me of this other thread: http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/general-discussion/30/why-is-ryan-such-a-dick/408208/
It's impossible to defend Sony in this. They've allowed hackers to access millions of users personal information such as emails, addresses and possibly even credit card details. And it doesn't just affect Sony and PSN users. It's bad for the reputation of the industry as a whole. It's bad for the reputation of online payment systems or any form of database that holds personal information. In this day and age that sort of thing should be locked down so tightly that no one can even think of accessing it. Sony have really fucked up with this by having sub standard security systems and it's totally indefensible.
Your comment made you sound like a Sony fanboy. It may have been in jest, but that stuff doesn't always play on the internet. Or it may have been before you read up on the news about the data that had been hacked, but how was Ryan supposed to know that? The bottom line is that Ryan can do what he likes with his personal twitter account. I'm sure he gets far too many annoying tweets from random people he doesn't know, so he probably has to be liberal with his blocking in order to cut down on the amount of crap he gets sent.
" I was once blocked by Ryan, but that's because I was closing in on his quaterback. "I tried to dunk on him once and got blocked.
Losing thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of peoples personal information is FAR FAR FAR worse than a console overheating and not starting up. You can't even compare the two. MS did everything in their power to extend the warranty of the 360 and fix and/or replace every 360 that did get the RROD. How is Sony possibly going to fix the problem of hackers stealing my personal information off PSN?!
You're right, those two things are not even close to being equal. What Sony did was violate my privacy and my trust, all Microsoft did was violate my trust.
" @weeman105: Not mad, just a little disappointed. Like I said, I love this site even if they are biased.Busted consoles can be replaced or returned. Potential identity theft is a whole other far more serious issue. When the 360 meltdowns were at their peak, it was an annoyance, but it didn't give people inherent cause for concern regarding their personal information. And yeah, the PSN situation is crazy fucked-up. I'm not excited about having personal information potentially compromised, but as of yet the worst thing that's happened to me is I can't play MK online. That being said: 54.2%. That's the failure rate for 360's since the console was launched. Doesn't seem quite the same as a 1-2 week outage of the online network."
