  • There are a number of games that I have always liked the look of, but for one reason or another, I never got round to playing.   -Okami (This one always looked totally rad to me but never owned a PS2 and I don't plan on getting a Wii) -Shadow Of Collosus (Similar to Okami....maybe I should just buck up for a PS2) -No Final Fantasy games XD ( FF12 looked particulaly up my alley.......looking on ebay for a PS2...) -Perfect ...

  • I am definately interested in this, even though it is highly unlikely that anything "exceptional" will happen in one of my games. The majority of my matches begin with a lot of uninforced deaths. Mainly because I try and chase down an opponent, run head long into a turret and get smoked immediately. This happens an average of 2-3 times per match b4 I actually start concentrating. xD

  • Don't get me started on CEX or Gamestation. Those places are always so messy and disorganised. If you have a choice of retailers always go for Game, especialy if your usure what your going to get and will spend a lot of time inside.  Plus in my experience, Game staff are much more freindly and talkative. I have often got into long drawn out conversations with somebody at the till discussing the situation ...

  • HAHA I love hearing about people sucumbing to some sort of game induced addiction! And this side of Borderlands is the reason I really want to play it. I just wanna get sucked into it, similarly to games like WOW. Most people grovel about this when it happens but I love it, and I'm sure those people really do to.

Uh well I got pretty darn good at TF2 on 360, but I also have just entered into the arena of PC gaming with my new rig. TBH the first thing that I would say, as somebody who does not play the game on a very serious level, is to just find a class that fits your play style. Now of course a game of TF2 changes all the time and you can't ...

My character: The gallant Art
My character: The gallant Art
Yep so this is my character in Titan Quest, or Mythical Diablo. He is a Guardian (tank) which is what I usually play in Action RPGs, mainly because it makes the game so much fudging easier! ( I'm not a caster guy). I have chosen the Defense and Spirit Mastery's which basically means he is a tank that can heal himself, also he can summon a frikin awesome wolf helper!!!. He is only level 9 atm but he is growing strong. Will keep you updated on his progression (which will probably include a lot of killing skeletons). To keep you midly satisfied until that time here is an obligitory screenshot of Art in action!!!!

Yep there we go...

Yeah so this game showed up for about £3.50 this week (dunno about the dollars) on Steam. I was curious to try it even though I had heard mixed things but as usual, Metaritic swayed me. I loaded it up and chose the "normal" difficulty setting, boy was this a mistake. Maybe I am so used to the Call Of Duty's and Halo's of the world but this game is brutal and I found out the hard way. After dying 4-5 times on the first mission, due mostly to the apparent uselessness of that games pistol, I quit out to the main menu and changed the difficulty to "novice". I found this to be a little more comfortable but I still felt as though I had scraped my way through.

I will continue to play this game but will have to wait and see if the gameplay clicks or the story sucks me in. So far so hmmmmmmmmm

I'm not 100% sure if you get Edge magazine in the US but here in England it is the seminal video game publication (close runner to GamesTM). The magazine is renowned for it's fantastic covers and having hit it's 200th issue a while ago, I wanted to share with you some of my personal picks from the 200 covers they released to mark this grand occasion.

I apologise for the squashing...

There are plenty more over at Edge online, this was just a small snippet. I emplore you to go and check them out. My personal favourite is either the Katamari one or the Ikaruga one.

Kudos to anybody who can name all of these titles or franchises. Many of them are easy but a few have me stumped.

...I don't know about you but after having watched all three E3 press conferences, I feel very sorry for Nintento Wii owners. This may be going off on a tangent but I feel I have learnt my lesson from getting a Gamecube. Thats not to say it was a lackluster system, not by a long shot, some of my greatest game experiences were had on that little purple cube. However the majority of titles I purchased for it, bar a few, were high profile first party Nintendo releases. Games like Wind Waker and MP were beautifully crafted, enganging and at some times jaw dropping experiences but, between lackluster ports and cheap third party releases, they were few and far between. Maybe it's been a long time but I cannot name one third party title in which its fun factor was equal or paramount to a title developed by the wizards at Nintendo. That's not to say that all of these releases were of sufficient quality (Mario Party, Luigis Mansion).

This lack of quality third party releases, which I could see coming out on other platforms, was something that really angered me at the time. Thankfully I have had the last laugh Nintendo. Really it's a consensus view that their press conference this year was lackluster, badly scripted, had some excrutiating banter and contained a puddle of  exciting announcements the majority of which being  the usual dish of Mario games which Nintendo somehow manages to keep on serving . ( WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT PULSE THING???!??!). In addition both Microsoft and Sony now have there own motion sensors, which look more responsive and more interesting than waggling a Wii controller. Maybe the Wii Motion Plus will completely turn the table on this but I'm doubtful.

The only thing that would have redeemed that conference, in my view, is a Wind Waker 2 announcement. Just something that someone who has fond memories of playing a Gamecube and SNES. I love Nintendo and always have but I feel that any uncertainty I felt when buying a 360 instead of a Wii has now gone.

It's probably evident that I feel a pang of annoyance on this subject, perhaps I need to check my pulse with a Wii Vitality Sensor...sigh
