PlayStation 4 is Sony's fourth home video game console, released on November 15, 2013 in North America, and November 29, 2013 in Europe. On November 10 2016, Sony released the Playstation 4 Pro, an updated version of the console targeting 4K gaming.
The forgotten game comebacks that you wanna see in PS4
syphon filter for sure, and of course jak+daxter EDIT! g-police EDIT AGAIN! shit how could i forget soul reaver and mdk man the game was all sorts of weird and awesome if i keep looking at this list my edits are gonna get huge so many amazing past PlayStation games to chose from.
With SCE Studio Liverpool gone, I'm worried Wipeout might be done. I hope to play another one of those one day...
That PS2 Syphon Filter killed the franchise. Wouldn't mind seeing that come back as a good game.
A new Parappa would be cool, but I'd hope that kind of game would be released as a $20 downloadable.
Oni. I would love to see a game with that primarily Hand to Hand combat feel again. I loved the fluidity/speed of the basic attacks, and the little bonuses that came from doing a quick combo. I really wouldn't even mind the art style staying largely the same. There are times when the push for things looking "real" isn't necessary, even for a bigger budget game.
Spyro the Dragon reboot - None of the skylanders stuff, just make a whimsical 3d platformer staring a purple dragon with attitude.
Also Jet Moto and MediEvil, i dont know why they never did much with these (especially the latter) Just reboot every ps1 franchise and call it a day
Jak and Daxter, I feel like as long as the uncharted franchise brings in that amount of money I will never get that though.
Fear Effect
Yes!
Fear Effect!
I didn't realise it until now but Fear Effect is almost roguelike! Maybe not, but in my memory I was just dieing constantly. Also the story and settings in Fear Effect 2 were pretty damn awesome, and it didn't have the load times of doom in it either.
I shudder to think what that artstyle would look like on the PS4.
To name a few...
- Syphon Filter
- Jet Moto
- Legend of Dragoon
- Colony Wars
- Socom (done correctly...not the garbage that was 4)
- Crash Bandicoot (Naughty Dog...I know, not possible)
- Ape Escape (without the move integration)
Pursuit Force. Give it to Sony Bend, they seem like they would be the best team to continue the franchise.
MDK, MedEvil, Soul Reaver
Beat me to it. That was exactly what I was going to say. I think a new MDK would be fucking awesome!
A Syphon Filter re-boot (or remake, specifically) would be cool tot. I'd love to play the first 2 games again but redone in HD with better mechanics and such. The original Syphon Filter story was pretty cool.
Having a Resident Evil reboot would be interesting, kind of like what they did with the Gamecube REmake. That was one of the best Resident Evil games ever.
And as much bitching that people do about where Metal Gear is going.... Instead of making new games, why don't they just go back remake the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 and just start from the beginning? I think a lot more people would be interested in that than just making new shit up only so they can keep the series moving and sell more games...
Hhhmmm. I honestly don't really want Sony to bring back a bunch of PS1/PS2 era platformers. Spyro simply does not hold up even remotely. I played it last year and God was it bad. Crash is okay but there have been much better platformers since. Jak and Daxter I guess I wouldn't mind showing up. Honestly, though, I'd be much more happy to see new IP than continuations of old IP. Naughty Dog just seems to get better with each series it creates. I'd love to see what Amy Henning can come up with next. Same for the folks at Insomniac. Resistance is pretty much done, and I'm interested to see what direction that team goes in next. A lot of Sony's franchises have really hit their peak. I want to see a lot of new creative ideas cause really Sony is always at its best when it is innovating with new ideas and IP and tech. So, honestly, as much as I'm excited to play the next Infamous and next Killzone, I really am more interested in what new ideas Sony brings to the table.
@stonyman65: Let David Jaffe take 110% control over Res Evil, with a team of rabidly hungry developers that want to do it.
@blu3v3nom07: That would be fucking INSANE!
I love it!
@stonyman65: Well.. I mean, Jaffe himself mentioned it in a E3 bombcast. Whisper: No one remembers, though, right?
Taking my credit, and going home. [Tiptoes away..]
A proper Ace Combat.........
Developer Logic: Lets release the newest AC on a console that has no history with the game then make it exclusive for it!(and make lots of money for the deal!)
Developer Logic: The latest Ace Combat didn't sell very well.... People must not like the style anymore, lets make a new one but this time make it call of duty of the skies!
@babychoochoo: jerk you stole my bit!! seriously this game was really interesting. Murder mystery plus pokemon style spirit monster catching with the only fun use of sixaxis controls I've ever experienced. Seriously unlikely but DO IT!!
Also yeah Kingdom Hearts which is more likely, Dark Cloud which I see as maybe (I think it was Level-5 and if that is so then I'm more hopeful because I think Ni No Kuni did fairly well in the west which could encourage them to do more stuff over here).
And god damn Onimusha guys. Preferably with some sweet Jean Reno action please. Honestly whenever I see Guildenstern or Fortinbras written somewhere (English student so more often then you may think) I think of demonic creatures not Hamlet. Get on it Capcom now that Resident Evil is in the doghouse bring out the old catalogue.
Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Wipeout and Dino Crisis. Oh man, I would break laws for another (good) Crash game.
Legend of Dragoon would be pretty awesome.
This.
