I haven't kept up with the ARG since the Portal update last year. What is even happening?

Indie games were being hacked into by GLaDOS and the developers have been sending out cryptic messages crying for help ever since the Potato Sack was released.

Now a lot of major people who have participated in the ARG have been infected by GLaDOS.

It's only being done for the people who are participating in the ARG. Are you familiar with "fun?" Or maybe "shits and giggles?" More logical explanations than Valve throwing a shit-ton of organization into an ARG to advertize Portal 2 exclusively to people who are playing a Portal 2 alternative reality game.  Hell, if Portal 2 unlocks early as a result I'm all for whatever craziness Valve & Steam want to indulge in.
