Fuck dude, I can't stand this anymore

I've been trying to get the aperture science achievement since I got the damn game (when it first came out). All the videos on youtube are for the pc version, which is much easier. There are slight changes in the 360 version that make it so much harder, not including that the controls aren't as sharp as kb/m

Why couldn't valve have made the gold medal requirements a wee bit more slack for the 360 version. like a few added seconds are some more steps. least portals is fine though

I know I hate getting portal achievements.

Other than like the gold medal challenges or whatever, I thought they were easy.

I have the full 1,000 on Orange Box, and it's not close to nearly impossible. Even if you are watching YouTube videos based on the PC game, it's the same game. Just get used to it and keep persisting. Spent a couple days on it but it was worth it.

I definitely get the feeling that mastering Portal is akin to mastering a song in Guitar Hero -- memorization and precision are key.  Both happen to come with lots of practice.

Yeah portal is bad in that regard valve didn't remember to make the achievements for the 360 in mind, I've not seen any one get the portal gold achievements legit.
(there is a cheat thing avaialbe that every one used to get them)

What counts as a step?  For instance, does landing from a portal jump count as a step?

They are really hard to get.

I think that Forza 2 definitely takes the cake for the most dragged on achievements.

I had a friend who suggested that these achievements are possible to accomplish on PC and not Xbox, could someone explain if this is true or not?

Valve focuses on PC first and foremost, even though they release the game on 360 as well(same for upcoming Left4Dead) it won't ever be the same quality of the PC one, everyone should know this. Keeping 360 achivements in mind isn't even in their head probably, and it shouldn't be...they're there, thats good enough."

Vin, that sounds like a challenge that needs to be videotaped...

Having played with Vinchenzo before and knowing his ethics, I can say that he probably did get them legit.

Seriously though. I feel your pain. Whoever made those achievements should be shot.

I didn't think they were that difficult?

There's one you get for falling like 10,000 feet or whatever. I was able to set it up so I could just fall straight down and down and down forever without touching the controller, but even after like 15 minutes, I still never got the achievement.
