@jakob187: There was a Quick Look of this a while ago :P
As for the game, it's Early Access on Steam and while that's all good and great, the game is a bit pricey in my opinion for what you get. A dev was on Twitter defending his stance that 'E A' to him was a 'way for consumers to help fund a title in development' and when I brought up that 'you'd probably get more people wanting to pay for your game if it weren't so damn pricey' he promptly blew me off, blocked me and then decided to apparently go on a rant about entitled idiots. (Or so I was told by a couple of my followers, this was months ago) -_-
While I didn't like Minecraft as a game, I do think Notch had the right idea. Give a reason to want to buy into an alpha, make it cheaper for people and they'll buy in and spread the game by word of mouth. I mean let's face it, even though this finally went on sale last week with the Steam Summer Sale, if you wait until final release, this game will probably be $10-15 and it'll be finished. Where-as right now it's $30 and half of the features and in game mechanics haven't been fully implemented. Some have and will argue, 'Well it's your choice to use the Early Access program' and while that's true, it doesn't excuse the fact that you're paying a fairly high price for an unfinished game that shows no signs of being finished soon. Even Squad realized the benefits of lowering the price of Kerbal from the original $25 and when the sale happened, it went down to $12...
Whether I be entitled or these developers foolishly stubborn, I do advise a bit of consumer awareness. I've seen several people on here ask whether they should wait to play the game... Really? You know this game probably won't release by the Holidays and you bought it anyways? My advice, wait until the Steam Holiday Sale and see what progress has been made and if you already bought it, it's playable but Alpha is Alpha.
