It seems that as soon as dual analog sticks came into existence, they have become, essentially, the primary form of console control. Makes me fondly recall the Atari 2600 and wonder how that system, and the games it had, would have been different if the dual analog existed back then. More buttons didn't really help the ColecoVision.
