I really hope this ends up with a story on the front page of SRK about how Jamie Lee Curtis rolled a bunch of fools in ultra sf4 money matches at EVO.

@nightriff: Yep true. I was one of the lucky ones, I guess.

Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft are getting this arse about face and treating honest punters as if they've got something to hide. If my wife gets food poisoning after a dodgy meal, I go after the restaurant, not my wife.

If the restaurant was dodgy and sold all their meals at below cost, would you buy food there?

@truthtellah: Yeah I haven't seen anyone put together an instruction guide for dealing with internet jerk tactics before in a proactive manner. Most of the armchair experts just give you the old, "don't feed the trolls" response, but I think we know that plan doesn't work on dedicated harassers. The I like that the stuff Crash Override has been espousing allows you to keep your life mostly normal.

Yeah, it's actually kind of surprising that nobody's taken a stab at creating something like Crash Override's "Preventing Doxing" guide until now given how many high-profile people have been affected by doxxing efforts. It's great to see them focus on pre-emptive measures as well as after the fact support.

What? Surveillance Self-Defense: Activist or protester?

Actually written by experts in the fields discussed. In-depth. There's a TON of information like this out there. SSD is by far the best I've found though.

Fortunately, there's definitely some good stuff about protecting your identity online. (It's an especially popular topic amongst those who use the Internet to harass people, too!) Though, a more personal touch can help in handling crises, and more resources of support are much-needed. There's a lot of information online on all kinds of subjects, but it's not always readily available for when people need it most.

True. But EFF is literally filled with people who have dedicated their lives to this kind of thing since before the birth of the internet. I just thought the idea that this was the first time someone had made a guide to protect yourself online a bit baffling, is all.

@n7: @cerberus3dog So after promising this as a free download less than a year ago, they've now managed to put it out for £20 and we should pay this because they made such a fuck up of the launch? That is crazy, I can't understand how they are getting away with it. It beggars belief

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/05/07/whats-included-driveclub-playstation-plus-edition/

20 is for the upgrade from the free psn+ to the full retail version of the game. The messed up part is them putting the upgrade up for sale without making the free plus version available. It's just a huge fucking mess.

I had some disconnection issues for a little while.

Unplugged and uninstalled the dongle from the device manager, plugged it into a USB 2 slot instead of USB 3 and let it reinstall drivers again, not had any issues since.

Just get a 4 port switch, they're practically giving them away. It's easier than setting up internet connection sharing on a PC and you're not reliant on the PC being turned on and running to get your consoles online.

Is your beard a hideous mess? Does it look like it might have a birds nest or a rabbit warren in it or something? If not, that sounds like a pretty unreasonable policy.

I have a pair of wireless corsair vengeance 1500 cans. Mainly using them for talking to people over voip at work.

At home I generally use a pair of beyerdynamic custom one pros. If I ever for some reason feel like I need a mic for gaming (might happen at some point, I guess) I have a modmic I can slap on them.
