"You're attacking his opinions and presenting your own as fact."

No. I'm presenting facts. DMC1 has better enemy and level design. DMC4 has superior combo potential. Those are not opinions.

"The FACT is that in my opinion, DMC4 sufferred from too much recycling of bosses/areas, not enough weapons nor innovation in same, and a spastically functional style switching system."

OK. You're entitled to that.

"You liked it more, and that's fine."

Not necessarily. I said it was better, not that I liked it more.

"But why do you care that I and many like me preferred the approach of 3?"

I don't care what you think. But saying factually incorrect things is going to make me call them factually incorrect. It has nothing to do with how much you liked it.

"I guess I'M tired of people saying that if I don't like a game then I'm not playing it right."

Where did I say that? You can play a game however you want. Saying wrong things = being called wrong.

The really fucked up thing is that Ninja Theory is making it, and Ninja Theory doesn't know how to make games. Hopefully Capcom's alleged control over the combat will make for a decent game. Thank God for it too; a once-great series like DMC would (and might) be shat on Ninja Theory. As if DMC didn't get enough of that with 2.

My hopes remain high and my expectations low. If it keeps all the current bullshit in the final build, it'll be awful.

Man, I loved Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego. I still play it occasionally.

Sucks. I like Eternal Darkness.

I already have this quest.

I don't know if I'd draw such a huge comparison to SF3. Parrying is in a few games, and Bayonetta's is different anyway, since the best parry automatically begins a counterattack. But yeah, it's pretty deadly once you master it. I almost always have it in one of the accessory slots.

"I don't remember the specifics but each style had less abilities in Devil May Cry 4."

That's incorrect. Even assuming you were right, you have access to every style and weapon at once which is the opposite of "dumbed down".

"I prefer the specialist approach. Four styles and switching between three weapons was a little clumsy for me."

Fair enough, but that doesn't make it a lesser game. It just means you can't (or don't) utilize the broader mechanics.

I guess I'm just tired of people saying 3 is better than 1 or 4 when it's plainly the worst out of the three. In terms of enemy and boss design, DMC1 is far superior (Also DMC4 to a lesser extent). And in combo potential, 4 is miles better as well. DMC3 has literally nothing over the other games.

@ImmortalSaiyan: "In Devil May Cry 4 the styles were simplified to balance out having access to all four at once."

How so?

I actually went to a screening of The Room yesterday and Tommy was there. SURREAL. That dude is not any less weird than he appears on screen.

During the Q&A, I asked him about The Wi-Show. He plans on doing them every week.

Demon's Souls is awesome. It's one thing to dislike it, but it's another to simply never try it. Vinny at least gave Demon's Souls a run-through, which you should do before the servers shut down. It's like nothing else.
