Games I own, but have yet to beat/play.

So I am pretty odd when it comes to video games. I get very interested in something about a game and buy it and can't wait to play it, and then for whatever reason...I don't. I mean, I haven't even cracked open the shrink wrap for some of these. It's disgusting, really. I also tend to play maybe a couple hours into games and, for whatever reason, make an excuse to set them aside. I've got some great, sometimes critically acclaimed games I have yet to play or beat, so I decided to make a list of them here so I can keep track of what I would like to get through.

Note: I actually left a couple out, because I didn't like them and don't plan on playing them again. These are all ones I'd like to get through at some point in time. I've got a year or so before grad school...maybe I can do it! : )

1. Mass Effect

Yep, I bought this with the console, and I still haven't started it.
2. Mass Effect 2
3. 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

This one was a hardcore clearance purchase at a game store that recently closed. Probably at the bottom of my list right now, but I popped it in and got about ten minutes in for a laugh.
4. Deadly Premonition

Really wanting to play this one - this game's RIGHT up my alley. I love cheesy horror!
5. Psychonauts

I'm about halfway through this one but Microsoft broke my heart with their halfhearted port to 360. My god, it's glitched on me about eight times now and kicked me out of the game each time. Thank goodness its autosave works so well!
6. Breath of Death VII

I love indie games, and I love old-school RPGs, so therefore I really love Breath of Death. Yet again, I'm about an hour in, and I just haven't started it up again.
7. Castle Crashers

I'm not terribly good at beat-em-ups, but I do love this one. But I like playing it with friends better than alone, so I'm not playing it often right now.
8. Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Another clearance purchase at the video game store. I'm not super excited for this but would still like to get through it at some point.
9. Alan Wake

Oh Alan Wake, why do you haunt me so with your confusing controls? I've mentioned this in a blog, but I use really funky invert/lefty controls in games like this, and it's just not working for me right now.
10. Limbo

Ok, so I'm technically done with this one, but I still have yet to get the <5 deaths achievement.
11. The Impossible Game

I always get right to the end where there are tons and tons of spikes in a row and die there. : ( So close...
12. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

We're on to DS games now! This one I played to the first dungeon, then, as usual, set it aside for something else.
13. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations

I actually imported this one in Japanese so I could get it sooner, I was so excited about it! But when I got it, I had just played through the last two, so I was a little burnt out on the franchise. I just need to pick it up and finish it now.
14. Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth

Same story as above. I just felt too burnt out on these games when I got it. Still haven't even opened it...but still want to play it.
15. The World Ends with You

Love this one, and I'm more than halfway through. It's just a pretty tense game, and I was stressed when I started it, so I had to stop for a while.
16. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

Got this for Christmas last year and have yet to play it. I'm so ashamed. : (
17. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Cute game so far, but the love of Kingdom Hearts has faded for me, so I'm not loving it.
18. Picross 3D

Ok, so this one TECHNICALLY doesn't count, as I finished it (twice!) in its Japanese form, but I bought it in English and have yet to beat it that way as well.
19. Trauma Center: Under the Knife

I probably will never play this again, because it kicked my ass up and down the street. My reflexes suck, ha!
20. Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

Played this right after the Curious Village and got burnt out on it. Have yet to beat it.
21. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl

There's actually a cute story behind this. When my boyfriend and I first started dating, we decided to geek out and buy these games. I got the Pearl and he got Diamond. We played them together for about a week...then we both just kinda stopped, ha, and we haven't picked them up since!
22. Yoshi's Island DS

This game is much tougher than I gave it credit for when I first started it...
23. Trace Memory

Got this on clearance years ago and haven't even cracked open the case yet.
24. Nintendogs

An ex boyfriend of mine got this game for me because he didn't know I actually PLAYED games already. : ) The damn dog never even recognized his own name, so I haven't played it since.
25. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly

On to PS2 games...A year or so ago, I got obsessed with old horror games, and I bought a lot of used games at my local Bookman's (sadly last winter it caved in from our record snowstorms, so it's closed for a year or so more while they remodel)...then I realized I was too much of a wimp to even PLAY most of them. So there they sit, on my shelf, gathering dust...
26. Silent Hill 3

See above. Silent Hill 1 and 2 were fabulous, but as the graphics got better for the franchise, my fear got worse, ha.
27. Silent Hill 4: The Room

See above.
28. Final Fantasy X-2

Still in the shrink wrap from when I bought it the day it came out. Yikes.
29. Suikoden III

I and II were great, but this is just another one I bought used and haven't even put in the PS2 yet.
30. Mister Mosquito

31. Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica

I'm actually borrowing this from my brother, so I've gotta get it played!
32. Odin Sphere

Gorgeous game. I died in the first level, though, and haven't played since.
33. Devil May Cry

If you haven't already noticed, I'm a little late to the party with most games. I finally bought the Devil May Cry games last year...then got overwhelmed with all the other games I have yet to play. Oops.

Have yet to play. Yes, I am ashamed.
39. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4

Loved Persona 3 so much that I'm a little nervous to start this one. I'm avoiding the ER for the same reason.

Another set of games I got for the cheap at Bookman's. This game murdered me alive when I tried it with its funky controls and difficulty. I'd love to get through them though! I remember watching my brother play them on the PS1 years and years ago.

The only game I ever got stuck in. I ran out of items in a dungeon and literally could not get out. I'd still like to start over again at some point and finish it though.
