This thread is just another version of "The Reviewer Is Said/Wrote Something I Did Not Like So I'm Going To Run To A Message Board And Protest!" style stuff we constantly see. They can have their opinions because they are their opinions. Why do people get bent out of shape due to someone stating their opinion they that makes them uncomfortable?

So you're saying " They can have their opinions because they are their opinions", but the OP shouldn't express his opinion about disagreeing? Well, that makes sense. If this was a thread with someone needlessly bitching or being childish then I would agree, but the OP plainly stated why he disagrees in a normal/mature way. If people don't like the topic being brought up then maybe they should just ignore the thread rather than telling someone what they should/shouldn't post. Agreeing or disagreeing about the stuff they say on the podcast is perfectly fine IMO.

So far I'm enjoying the way multiplayer is handled in Halo 4. Granted I've played Reach for only a bit before selling it, didn't really grab me, and the only other I played for hours at a time was Halo 1 on PC. Halo 4's version quite obviously takes elements from CoD4's ever-popular system, and considering how successful it is that's fine. What I like here, though, is that levels seem to be VERY generous; I've played for maybe a combined 4 or 5 hours of MP and I'm already in the late teens of SR ranking. I feel as if a casual player would have nearly everything that affects gameplay in a meaningful way unlocked within a week or two. Without "prestiges" rolling you back and the array of pointless weapon choices that CoD games offer, Halo 4 gives a pretty good balance of instant viability and new found power from ranking up. With all the talk of BR/DMR dominance, I must say that I've been rolling with Storm Rifle/Magnum combo paired with dexterity to fast swap weapons and it's pretty nice. Even on large maps, provided you can close gaps using cover, it's amazingly effective. The AR variants do not lose in close range and it's nice. Also, I had to smile a bit when I got my first "ROAD TRIP!" medal.

I would say there is something wrong with Halo, the multiplayer that started it all on console, copying another game's system. Well, not that COD invented it, since Rainbow Six and other games had it first but they never get credit. However, COD did start the craze and instead of innovating the 343 guys just bend over and take it. That's not a BIG deal to me, but it is disappointing as an ex Halo 2 mulitplayer junkie.

I'm not sure who you're going against using those guns, but since people ONLY seem to pick Haven, Complex, and Ragnarok during TDM, I can't see a good player getting killed by a storm rifle since they wouldn't let you get that close. It might work on Adrift and some of the smaller maps, but people hardly every pick those from what I've played. A BR or DMR is always going to beat a SR from medium to long range, and only someone not very good or who's not paying attention to their radar would let you get close.

I'm really enjoying being able to spawn in with a DMR, Plasma Pistol and Plasma Grenades. The problem I'm seeing, though, is that other than deciding between DMR or BR, there's really no "choice" in what you load in with. Why would you spawn with Frag Grenades or a UNSCPistol when a Plasma Pistol and Plasma Grenades have more uses? The same goes for the AR, why spawn with a somewhat powerful close/mid-ranged weapon when the BR and DMR are decent at close range, and excellent at mid and long range? It's nice to be able to choose, but due to the nature of those weapons, I just don't foresee, nor see currently, people choosing anything outside a very limited assortment of weapons.

Yeah, that's why I said everything feels like "Slayer Pro" now. Small and big TDM is basically just jump up/down, strafe right/left until one of you dies from a BR... before anyone says I suck, I'm usually the number one or two person in the entire match, but that's a really boring way to play. Bad level design is a problem too. People always pick Haven or Complex and just camp in one area together... you might getaway with using a shotgun or assault rifle on Adrift, but people rarely pick it. I think I'll stick to objective matches if it stays like this. Things will probably get worse once people start unlocking the light rifle.

"Flood" could've been a fun mode, but giving the infected armor abilities pretty much ruined that.

I was having more fun with the MP yesterday when everyone didn't have a BR, DMR, or Carbine. I was wondering if picking your weapon beforehand would take away from the "Halo feel" of MP and it does. The best parts of Halos 2, 3, etc was everyone being the same and fighting for the best weapons. Since everyone can spawn with a medium to long ranged rifle now, everything feels like slayer pro. Also, other weapons like sniper rifles, ARs, shotguns, etc are rendered useless in the different deathmatches, since people usually just camp on top of structures and shoot down. There's a little more weapon variety in CTF, Dominion, and other objective games, but it's still there too. This would be like if everyone had a M16 in COD and Battlefield, actually it's kinda worse here, since all the Halo maps are wide open. I'm fine with the armor powers so far.

Also, it's a little off-topic, but the first mission for Spartan Ops sucks, I hope the other ones are better, but ATM, I think they should have just kept firefight.
