My meeting of the Giantbomb crew and many of my Video game idols!

Pax truly was a great experience, I got to play some games, eat some great food, see Seattle, and best of all meet some people.

I also got first question at the Giantbomb panel and the Halo universe panel!

Here are some of the people I met.

My meeting of Brad was a bit short but sweet, he was quiet but very nice. He made me feel alright about coming up and bugging him to get a picture, and talk for a bit.
Me and Ryan spoke one on one for about 15 minutes, he was a great guy, full of stories, very outgoing, and not afraid to pull any punches.
After wading through the crowds I reached Jeff who even though he looked tired managed to have a nice lengthy conversation with me, I got to explain to him that he changed the way I look at reviews.
Last but not least in the Giantbomb crew was Vinny, he was super nice, very out going, and actually took the time to talk Warhammer 40k with me for about twenty minutes, it was a great experience followed by a great picture!
Me and Marty O'Donnell the lead Audio composer on the Halo games and everything Bungie!
After a quick chase down I met up with Rocko of Mega 64 for a quick pick.
Me and the Mega 64 crew.
Me and Shishka.
Me and Jay Weinland Audio composer at Bungie.
Me and Eddie Smith
Me and Sotaro Tojima sound lead on Halo 4 and MGS 4.
AHHHHHHHH!
Guns, Guns, and Mo' Guns! Eddie Smith, concept artist.
Myself and Mr. David Ellis
Badass
Thumbs up!
Me in front of a Panzer Tank!

Update: So I accidentally snuck into the tested podcast early, I sat behind Jeff, I also got onto the thumbnail for the podcast!

Here look!

You're that Halo guy who bench presses right? It's awesome you got to meet the guys and had a great time! I like the Vinny picture the most.

Posted by Video_Game_King

Why am I seeing double Vinny in the fourth shot?

Posted by big_jon

@blacklabeldomm: Thanks a lot dude, I was super happy about it all, I will continue posting more pictures of me and the people I met/ things I saw at PAX, I hope you will check back to see the rest!

The Uploading of pictures is very slow right now.

@big_jon: He's saying you and Vinny look alike

These are awesome pics! It's great that you were able to spend so much time talking to the Giant Bomb crew.

Jeff's t-shirt made me laugh.

Posted by Claude

Damn, Brad has a long ass thumb.

Posted by McGhee

I am most envious, especially of you meeting Jeff and Vinny.

Also, did you meet any of the Rooster Teeth guys?

Posted by PeasantAbuse

That's pretty awesome that they spent the time to talk to you for that long.

Posted by D_W

Awesome pictures!

And yeah. That's a hell of a thumb our dearest Bradley has.

Posted by AhmadMetallic

You're all about sound design aren't you?
 Also, you're pretty big, jon.

Cool pictures, glad you had fun.

@big_jon: Cool pics man, glad you enjoyed yourself :)

Although I'm fond of the Giant Bomb crew and some other people in the games industry, I most definitely don't idolize them. They're good at what they do, and therefor they've got my wholehearted appreciation.

You arent the only one

Posted by Vinny_Says

Did the dude from 343 Industries (I think that's David Ellis) tell you anything about Halo Anniversary?

Posted by TheDudeOfGaming

I am now convinced that Brad is actually an alien!

Posted by ShockD

Sweet stuff man!

@Claude: that's a bonafide finger.

As much as I idolize the GB crew, I would never have the courage to approach them

Posted by Cheesebob

That is really cool, I hope one day I am able to go to one of these things

Posted by Vegeta187x

I wish I had the courage to go up to the GB crew and have a conversation. I have this thing where I always feel that everybody else's time is more valuable than mine, so I don't want to impose. I had opportunities to talk to the GB crew, to Notch, Jerry, Mike, Khoo, various game developers, and musicians, and ended up veering off in the opposite direction because I didn't want to be "that guy," stopping people while they were on their way to getting a sandwich or something. I had MULTIPLE times to talk to Jonathan Coulton, but chose not to because the dude just looked tired and I didn't want to pester him.

Blah.

Why not? They're just duders like you are I, working for chump change. They just have a little limelight because they run a site.

Posted by GoofyGoober

You do kinda look like Vinny, but awesome pics man, glad you had a great time.

Posted by Oscar__Explosion

@Vegeta187x: gahhh. If I ever got to go to any type of event like PAX and getting the opportunity to meet anybody that I recognized from the games industry I would get to nervous to speak to them for the same reasons. So annoying.

Posted by Maajin

This is awesome. I love the retarded faces Rocco makes in his pictures.

Posted by BalrogsBain

Brad looks like hes photo-bombing in that photo great pics shame it would of coast my soul to attend pax maybe one day

Posted by big_jon

Today is my Birthday!

Posted by LethalKi11ler

Totally jealous I can't make it to the PAXes, they all seem like the best time!

Posted by Dick_Mohawk

@big_jon: Happy Birthday duder.

Loved the pics, looks like you had a great time.

Posted by Mordi

Must have been a bit annoying to set up all those telephone books to stand on top of before each picture!

Posted by big_jon
@Mordi
Hahaha
Posted by JJWeatherman

Super cool, dude. I'm jealous. :)

Posted by Xolare

Why is Vinny in all of these pictures. Wait. THAT'S NOT VINNY.

Edited by ChickenPants

Cool pictures, thanks for uploading!

Must ask, was it awkward at all at first going up and talking to them? And you say you were able to talk to them 1-on-1 in some instances for upwards of 20 minutes, I would of thought they'd have people coming up to them all the time so this wouldn't of been possible?

Just interested because I, like a couple of other guys in this thread, probably couldn't work-up the courage to talk to them. I'm a confident enough guy and all, I just feel like I wouldn't want to intrude on them with my bullshit :)

Awesome pictures man. Looks like a good time.

I cannot unsee what I have seen.

But actually, all thumbs are that big in proportion to hands. Brad just has massive hands.

They Came from the Internet!!!

Those were some great pictures. Nice blog post.

Cool stuff. Meeting people is always really fun. I got the privilege to chat with Stig Asmussen at the E3 prior to God of War III's release and it was very eye-opening (plus, he was a really nice guy).

Posted by Sjupp

@big_jon: Crazy jealous! Huge fan of both the GB and Bungie people. Great pics!

Posted by kishinfoulux

Awesome pics. Glad you had a great time.

Posted by Afroman269

I can't wait to finally go to a PAX to meet those guys. They seem to be pretty cool in person.

Posted by RoyCampbell

Uplifting post. Seriously, I'm like in a good mood now after having looked at all those pictures.

Posted by imsh_pl

Why do you have a picture of Jason Statham holding a machine gun?

The technical aspects of the photos are pure suck, fortunately good photos are 90% soul and situation... And there's plenty of that.

Posted by Mikemcn

That world of tanks Tank is awesome. You clearly had a great time at PAX, i'm jealous!

Posted by Blair

Rocco's expression in that picture is glorious.
