I loved it. 0

I only borrowed an Xbox for a short period, but Fable was one of the best games I had played on that system. Microsoft's Fable, the very RPG that's been touted by its creator Peter Molyneux (that same guy behind Black and White) many times for being the greatest RPG to ever grace its way into gamer's aspirations for the evolutionary genre. Known even before the Xbox's time, Fable once went by the name of Project Ego. The most gorgeous screenshots YOU'VE ever seen were paired with details surroun...

Sid Meier has done it again!! 0

One of the reasons that PC gaming remains as strong as it does is because it is almost impossible to port certain games to consoles. You can quite easily push over a first-person shooter, but real-time strategy and MMORPGs are awkward at best. The most difficult, however, are turn-based strategy titles that require obscene amounts of micromanagement, where a keyboard and a mouse are almost required to play the game correctly. Of these games, one of the most popular is Civilization, which is a co...

Mediocracy killed the cat 0

Here's how the pitch went in the Acclaim office on this game: "Hey boss, did you see that Nintendo's Mario Party is selling pretty well. Good reviews too..." "Great. Make one. Get it out by Christmas." Panicked, that guy went rummaging through Acclaim's vast collection of licenses, and after a few weeks of R&D with Jeremy McGrath party games (after getting nothing out of the Olsen twin design), he finally turned to his buddy down the hall and said, "Hey, do we still have that South Park lice...

One of Mario's finest adventures 0

The story behind Galaxy will come as no surprise to anyone who has played a Mario game before, basically Mario receives a letter from Peach to come to the castle as she has a special gift for him, however once Mario arrives at the castle he finds Bowser and his son causing chaos with the aid of a fleet of airships and before his very eyes a UFO picks the Princess’s castle from the ground and sets off into space.Mario is obviously is quite miffed that this has happened once again, probably thinki...

The redifining third person shooter hits the wii. 0

If you’ve never heard of Resident Evil 4 before then you’ve been living under a rock. There’s simply no need to bother you with the obligatory introduction, as this is a game that needs no introduction: it simply rocks. Whether or not you’ve played Resident Evil 4 before doesn’t matter. The bottom line is this. If you loved the game on either the GameCube or PlayStation 2, then you’ll love it even more on Wii. And if you’ve never played it before, then you’ll finally understand why the rest of t...

After it's lackluster storyline you'll be left alone in the dark 0

Alone in the Dark (AITD) for the Xbox 360 is the latest installment in the long running survival horror franchise, which began way back in 1992 on the PC. The original Alone in the Dark has often been hailed by many as the original survival horror game. So, 16 years on, does the franchise still have life, or should it just be buried in the dark? Read on to find out. The game starts you off by throwing you straight into an interactive cutscene, with no clue as to who anyone is, or what is going...

ZOMBIES 0

Capcom is a very odd company when it comes to developing games. They pretty much blanked the original Xbox in favour of the PS2. Sure, we got a few bits here and there but Marvel Vs Capcom does not really make up for Resident Evil does it? If the 360 was going to make a name for itself, it needed to get Capcom into bed and start making some sweet zombie love. [Thanks for the great mental image - Ed].  Several months later, Dead Rising was born and what a fantastic zombie battering sim the game...

Old review. 0

Volition, the PC developer responsible for Descent: Freespace, shocked the gaming media when it announced that its next project would not only be a console game, but an RPG to boot. The result is Summoner, an amazing departure from the traditional nature of console RPGs. Summoner has a passionately ambitious nature, and even though the game doesn't realize all of its lofty goals, it has the potential to change the whole genre altogether. Summoner tells the story of Joseph, a young man with th...

MK does everything right... ...for a Mario Kart Game. 0

Mario Kart Wii is chocked full of fun tracks both new and retro. The retro list reads like a Rolling Stones' greatest hits album and the new courses are so good that I was blown away by their creativity and playability. The same can be said for the Battle arenas: unlike the GameCube's mostly unimaginative battlegrounds (don't worry...I still loved them), these arenas do a far better job of testing your ability. In addition to the staggering amount of great environments from past and present, the...

One of the best RPGs of this generation 0

Mass Effect's storyline is actually very well thought out. A driving storyline and plot makes for a very user-involved experience, and each choice in the game affects how the game plays. Different choices lead to different responses from different characters, and there's a multitude of choices to be made throughout the game, making it very replayable. I can't really say much more about the game's story, because it's so rich and full. Suffice to say, it's a great variation on the ages-old tales o...

Tekken Review 0

It's not often that you come across a game that redefines the sector it operates in, but to put it quite frankly, Tekken: Dark Resurrection is absolutely staggering. With its very first PlayStation 3 E-Distribution Initiative title, Namco has effectively annihilated just about every preconception you might have about budget downloadable games. This isn't a decades old arcade port looking to sneak a few quid out of you for nostalgia's sake, it's a conversion of the very latest instalment of a huge...

Eagle Vision Motha Fuka!!!! 0

Assassin's Creed gives gamers the opportunity to explore a vast wilderness of characters through various cities in a quest across the “ Holy Land ” in the 12 th Century. Each of the cities you explore features unique characters that can be interacted with and ultimately assassinated. You play as Altair, an elite assassin chosen to reduce the powers of the Saracens and the Crusaders in the 12 th Century. Part of a creed you soon learn that a plot is unravelling that threatens the Holy Land . No...

Pretty much a steal. 0

Orange box has Half Life 2, HL2: EP1, HL2: EP3, Portal and Team Fortress. Orange Box is a steal for having all these games but how do the games compare? Half Life 2 is the same game released in 2005, but sadly the Xbox version and not the better PC counterpart. When playing Half Life 2 I felt closterphvx because of how the player moved and the tight platforming game. This applies to Episode 1 and 2. However the single player is good, but not worth playing again (jt's not really neccessary). You ...

Portal is an amazing revolutionary game. It's a puzzle game which requires you to make portals to advance. You have to use the law of physics to guide you as you get through a set of 3-D levels. It's addictive, fun and well compelling. The game is with out doubt one of the funniest games ever. The robot in the game is hilarious and it combines intense puzzles with some hilariously brilliant dialougue. The gameplay for the game is really good and pushes the Havok engine to its' limits. However th...

Bioshock is pretty much an interactive storybook. It's a game that is only faithful to it's single player campaign. The game stars a man who enters a undwerwater city of rapture were horrible things have occured that causes its citenzens to go crazy and attack each other, you must try to escape with help from engineer Atlas. The game is extremelly addictive and there is a mix of magic and weapons in the game to help you. The single player campaign will take 15 hours to complete, and you'll likel...

Best in the series 0

Call of Duty 4 is without doubt the best Call of Duty game ever made. From its' jump from WW2 to Modern Warfare to its dynamic and powerful single player this is one shooter that is essential to get. The single player campaign is short, however depending on what difficulty you choose to play the game on. If you play it on normal then expect to play for 4-5 hours before completing it. However this is doubled if you play in Veteran as you have to camp more, move slower and yes retry alot. However ...

Solid Shooter 0

Resistance is a solid shooter for the PS3. There are some problems with the game. The guns are weak. There are two types of guns; Chimera and Human. Since this is a world war 2 shooter the Human guns feel outdated and old and to make it worst the chimera guns sound like toys and don't feel right when shooting with them. The single player syory line isn't interesting and a lack of cutscenes greatly bring it down. Also half way through the game you go through a maze that pissed me off because it r...

ut HITS THE CONSOLES!!! 1

To be honest, Unreal Tournament 3 is a big letdown for any die hard Unreal Tournament fan. While the content is stripped down from Unreal Tournament 2004. With no real additions added to the game which calls it self  " a true sequel" you're left realing from how everything is structured. Regardless UT3 is still a great game. There's now a single player mode, with an okay story some twists which aren't presented as well as Gears of War but nethertheless it's okay. However at the end of the day it...

Master Chief's Final Mission 0

Halo 3 three is the final installment in the Xbox's most famous trilogy. Halo 3 improves on the orignal with having smoother gameplay, graphics and having a better storyline. For thos who were dissapointed with Halo 2's dissapointed storyline then you'll be pleased to know that Halo 3 delivers a compelling story from the begining to the end. The gameplay has been modified to be a little smoother but no dramatic changes have been made. Online is still full of jerks so you'll have to mute your hea...

Imagine getting items and throwing them at people. Imagine that you can get an item that: turns you into a bullet and makes you invincible, hit players so hard that they hurt themselves. Imagine that you have a 3-D game with graphics to match the GCN. Imagine if you can take this perfect game with you, anywhere. Imagine that you can play people around the world... Mario Kart DS is an adaptation from Super Circuit. With nearly all of the old items and some new ones. You also have a variety of pl...

Best Videogame in history 0

You start off with a creature riding a horse. Hitting a little boy in the rain. First you think ouch, then that’s evil on that kid. The poor ole bloke. Kill the man! Burn him alive! However little do you know that's the kid you will be playing... Even though you start off in a forest it's still an ass load of fun. You have to save the deku tree from a virus. By using you're skills and smarts. Then you learn about a man called Gannon, where you have to kick his ass. And save the world! You then ...

PS2 REVIEW 0

PS2 REVIEW: Sims2 is an adaptation of Sims. You have 2 modes: Free play and Story. Free plays is where you choose/make a family and control their lives. If you die you can turn into a ghost and puke on people. Also challenge death which is all fun. Story mode is a little bit boring. You unlock stuff in story mode which is good. But you have to keep you're Sim happy or he/she would go angry. Also you can get an alien race which is kind off cool. It's easy, but will take a long time to learn how t...

NINTENDO DS REVIEW: When I first brought the game and saw the cover, I thought, wow! I The Game was brilliant on the ps2 so I expected the same from teh DS. Then I play it. First I think, GREAT! Brilliant! But then, it becomes rubbish. You first start off as a street person trying to make a living. You have to play mini games like: Clean the windows, Doctor etc. You then have to talk to people and chat up the police man. At first it’s a laugh, its fun. But then goes really boring. But you c...

Then he eats some garlic and he gets a broken tooth. He then goes into the dentist and gets a check up. Then he runs off and has to do mini games. The first time ever were you have to use you’re DS pen and use it. Pop the balloons, Pour the ketchup etc. Then you have to fight a boss. Then you unlock characters together with you’...

Link's second outing on the N64 is his darkest one yet! 0

The darkest Zelda game out. It has a moon falling on the earth, a crazy kid with magical powers, a mask man after you and the good old ocarina/epona what more do you need? Zelda Majora's mask starts off where Zelda: Ocarina of Time end's off. With Link loosing Navi, he sets off with Epona into the dark. There he gets mugged by a flying kid with two fairies around him. It was a skull kid wearing a strange mask. Link chases him but he turns you into a Deku Scrub. Then one of the Fairies goes with ...

I first brought this game thinking that I will be playing a great adventure story. However I was shocked to discover that the game was hard,,, It took me 5 goes to defeat the three headed dog. The story starts with Dante and his bro fighting in the rain. Swing giant swords at each other. Then Dante looses leaving his brother to turn to the darkside or something. Then a load of creatures come after Dante. Leaving you to fight you're way through the visous army. However, it's not as good as it see...

Spidey's new old look 0

Spiderman is the most famous superhero in the world. He is a Man-Spider thing. I own a bunch of his comics. I love Spiderman but how? How does he make crap games? You start off seeing a movie that's like wow! They made it into a half movie half comic prologue, it was magical. At that moment I thought it was going to be legendary. But I was wrong. Straight after you fight Venom. It's just crap! Yes you can go saving people but it's just annoying! He can climb, web-sling yet he sucks. The graphics...

Best in series. 0

Given that Epic had already reached a sweet, sweet point with the original Unreal Tournament, and some would argue with UT2003, it was fair to wonder what more they could do with the next iteration of the series. Well, it's easy to say they've delivered, and then some. A huge selection of new maps, gorgeous graphics, improved game play, and the return of Assault are generous enough. But the addition of Onslaught, with its powerful vehicles and tactical variety, makes UT2004 into a multiplayer be...

At first America's Army looks like an excellent shooting game, for a free online. But once you're settled in, it's a whole lot worse! Usually army games have to have a tutorial. But this game just takes the piss. They claim that "to complete the game, you've go to complete basic training. First you've got to do a shooting obsticle. Pretty easy, completing that is the time that a usual game would take, but then you've got to do an obstacle. This is a piss-taking thing that'll annoy you 'till you ...

Mario resorts to football. 0

Usually when Nintendo tries to make all star gaming hero, Mario, into a sport player it fails miserably. Tennis, golf you name it. But for the second time, first was basketball, Mario is good at another sport, football (or soccer) First you've got to choose a team captain. The captains are: Mario, Wario, DK, Peach, Daisy, Waluigi, Luigi and Yoshi. The best ones are: Mario, DK and Waluigi. Now I know you're wondering "what about Bowser". Well they made Bowser into an item that jumps onto the stag...

Spike fails. 0

Dragonball Z Tenkaichi holds the record for the most number of characters in a Dragonball game! This game has a poor multiplayer option but is great with its single player options. The game includes all the characters that you would expect in a DB game, with some you wouldn’t. From the hero, Goku too the infamous Janemba. The arena's are as good as ever, well most of them. The world tournament sucks. You can now fight in the water, in the skies anywhere, in the perimeter. When you're fighting th...

Best in the series. 0

The best Dragonball Z game ever created is here! Budokai 3 is just wicked! The story mode starts off with Goku meeting with Raditz and you have to fight him. Easy, but when you have to use Special beam cannon with Piccolo, it becomes challenging. In this game you've got something called "Dragon Mode!" where you can perform your final move onto your opponent. Goku has Genki Dama, and so on. If you complete story mode you get something called "red ribbon base" Do not ignore this! You can win a fe...

Bongos in the morning. 0

The aim of the game is to... erm... so, there isn't an aim. Just kick your mates asses. You've got a bongo drum. There is two drums. And a sensor in the middle, to clap, off course. There are over 30 songs too choose from, they're all random and odd songs. But here is a good thing: there are classic songs, so this is an excuse to make your parents let you play. Don't get too carried away, they'll start playing along too! You can control the title screen with the game. Right= UP Left = Down Star...

Quadruple Wammy! 0

In 1996 the N64 was out, with it was the first, successful 3-D Mario. When it was out on the DS, people where going crazy. This is one of the games that made the DS the biggest and best-selling handheld in the world. This time you've got four people to play with, Yoshi, Luigi, and Wario and off course Mario. But you start off with Yoshi. The rest are captured by Bowser. You've got to save them all! Each player has different abilities. There is a box (like the wing hat) that'll unlock them. Mar...

On December 2001, Nintendo Miyamato (The Legend behind Mario and Zelda) made a game about kiddy aliens. What we didn't know was that their destination point is our world, and they're extremely tiny! When he lands there, he discovers that his planet is in major debt. One of the bottle caps he used for the...

God of War Review. 0

In God of War you play as Kratos; a bad ass guy who, to get rid of his sins, has to defeat Ares. So you go to Athens and fight many Greek monsters that appear in mythology. God of War is a brilliant game. They have made all the gaming features equal. For example the puzzles aren't easier than the gameplay etc. It's all the same. Also it isn't too hard/ too easy which is a perfect combo. There is blood in the game and nudity but its all cool. The beat-'em-up feature is great. You can do combo tha...

Animal Crossing has finally come to the DS. But this is the best Animal Crossing compared to the other ones. I'll tell you why...
