Alright, so I have a huge soft spot for anything that looks like a vintage Sega game. Tokyo Beatdown looks like equal parts Dynamite Cop and Diehard Arcade all mixed up and poured into the stage design from Yakuza. The dialog and characters are extremely clever. Halfway through I found myself wishing someone would spin it off into a tv series. Not just because the whole bat shit insane police department was fascinating, but because I'd much rather watch Tokyo Beatdown then have to play it. Ulti...0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
(This is a review I wrote in 2002, it's been unedited or updated.).Welcome to Cosmic Smash. Do you ever sit there and wonder what designers are thinking when they make a game? Do they know they're making a bad game? Does the game just become bad at the last minute and then they can see what bunk they made? Or do you think they just never know until people point out how bad it sucks. I know I have, but until I played Cosmic Smash...I never thought the reverse.
