Don't know how I feel about this game yet after Bloodborne. After so many similar Souls game I really liked the direction Bloodborne went, so I hope they carry over some aspects from that game, otherwise I don't know if I can slug through yet another Soul game. I'll save my hype for later reveals on how they're gonna change it from Dark Souls 2 (Which is my least favorite Souls game to date).

Parry, parry, parry... and parry.

Used the longest time on Ludwig, due to no parry and that being my first boss after not playing for months and being at NG +.

Optional boss was fairly challenging as well, since you couldn't parry and all, until I realised electricity kicked his ass hard. I was also more used to the game again by the time I got there.

Felt like a challenge that was difficulty enough to be incredibly fun, but not enough to rip my hair out. Love it. (Except getting the Rakuyo. Fuck that shit)

I hope not. They've garnered too much attention and hype now, it's impossible to live up to it. We're judging games harsher and harsher, and the room for something new and gamebreaking is so small now compared to what it used to be. The chance of the game being a disaster rather than being a success seems way too big to take the risk after all this time.

I very heavily feel like this because I believe that the game would be considered a disaster by most if it was nothing more than mediocre by the standards set for whenever it would come out.

@bananasfoster: Well... the earlier, and most of, your arguments have been that this "jank" is part of the charm and that it should be accepted because there is literally no other game that does what Bethesdas games does. It sounds kinda harsh when you read it on paper, but I really do get what you mean. Still, I feel like I've accepted this jank before. It was there in Fallout 3, and I accepted and embraced it. Personally gave me more humor than annoyance anyways. I accepted it in Skyrim, but I didn't embrace it. It felt old, the novelty had worn of and it was more of an annoyance than it was something to laugh at. Now, we're at Fallout 4, and the jank is STILL THERE. I do not mind a little jank in my games, but the sheer amount of it in Fallout 4 is too much when I've seen it all before. As with many other here, it's now at that point where it's ruining my immersion with the game, and for a game that aims so high at this immersion that's not a good thing.

As to the graphics I couldn't care less. I would never call the graphics in this game bad, because the aren't. They might not be what some people expected because of other games, but then again... OTHER games. I agree that for example Witcher 3 graphics would take away more than it would give to the game, so I actually prefer it like it is now over that. Though, graphics alone aren't what most people here are complaining about, they're mostly complaining about animations. And god, they're bad. They're not awful, but they're bad. And I'm back again to this one thing I really want from this game - immersion. It's very hard to be immersed when I feel like I'm talking to a stiff plank, where dialogue often just mutes/stops completely and worse - where I don't fully control what my character, me, is saying.

Which brings us to the last part I want to bring up. You say these games are all about being sandox/RPG. Not playing, but LIVING in a world that feels dynamic and alive. Can't really put the words on it myself, but you probably know what I'm trying to get at. Anyways, I agree. There are no other games, nor developers, that truly does what Bethesda do, BUT... Bethesda seems like they aren't doing it as well as they used to themselves. With everything added and renewed for Fallout 4, a lot was also stripped down and removed, and something that got hurt by this was the control you had over you character. As many others have mentioned, you are not truly playing your own character anymore. You're controlling a character given to you with a set ways to react and answer. Earlier you were in first person where the character spoke directly to YOU. You knew EXACTLY what you were saying and how you were saying it, and that in turn gave you a lot of control over who you were and what defined you.

For what it's worth, I'm still enjoying the game, so I'm not trying to bash on it completely if that's what it comes across like. It's just that even though I personally like the game, I can still see and agree with this game being flawed beyond acceptable. I feel like Bethesda found a formula that worked and they've gone with it since, deciding to change as little as possible in the fear of displeasing the general public and their fans. It has worked, but the backlash both at launch and after launch is getting bigger for every game they release, and I think this is the game that should tip them over to actually do some major improvements. I am not saying change the formula, I would hate to see them do that, but fix some problems. The world feels alive? Great. Now get the combat to feel alive, get the characters to become interesting and feel alive. Fix the immersion breaking jank (At least get rid of some of it, asking for a 100 % jank-free game is a madmans errand) and create a sound story where the player feels like they have a impact.

I don't expect them to fix everything with their next game, but they need to at least move forward. Better graphics alone isn't enough anymore.

It's WoW for me, it's the only MMO I've ever come back to and enjoy every single time I do so. And I've tried A LOT of MMOs.

I also tip my hat for vanilla WoW, that's when I felt the game shined the most. Blizzard has done many changes, many of them very good, but some of them removed a feeling of accomplishment that vanilla had.

I thought it looked so freaking awesome at announcement, but after the newest Destiny expansion I feel like the whole this game would fill, has already been filled. Modern Destiny sounds like a really good description of what it looks like at least, I still carry a little hope for this game, but not much...

@frag_maniac: I used the car that shoot missiles or something and just mashed on him, and he basically went down before reaching any phase. It went really, really fast. Fast and easy, it took me 2 tries to actually find that missile car, but after that I did it easily on the first try.

You should probably do some research or just try some simple things in the game before gong on a rant in a online forum, because as stated above you can get them to exit the armor and you can send them home and wander the wasteland alone. There is even a perk where being alone empowers you, so of course you can do it...

Well I beat Sahelanthropus by just using the cars, it was so easy I never even got the chance to think about developing a better RPG.

And on Sahelanthropus you could, at least I believe, leave the mission and come back once you had the gear for it. You know what mission you can't do this in? Mission 4-freaking-5.

Well, like I said, you have to battle Sahelanthropus well before this, so a powerful rocket launcher is like, duh!

@kasaioni said:

Really the main reason why people have trouble with this mission is because no one bothered to develop some good rocket launchers. I did a bunch of side-ops that involved taking out helicopters, so I already had some high-level rocket launchers I could call in to take those tanks out in a shot or two.

I go for story when there's nothing else in my questlog, but I stop at every location that's somewhat on the way and I stay in my settlement for a decent period just fixing some stuff and chilling there.
