Why would EA put effort into day one DLC and a possible in-game store to simply allow modders to supply the market with possibly better alternatives for free. This was either complete bullshit to convince the masses to buy a game crammed full of stuff we'd run a mile from if we heard about, or it's a feature they'll introduce when demand wanes to the extent that only opening it up to a degree will keep it alive. Either way it's pretty shitty.

Mass Effect 2 was designed to go with Mass Effect 1. While the game is great on its own, what sets it apart is the way 1 and 2 are intertwined. Because story is central to this franchise, Sony will be doing themselves a disservice if they don't see that 1 is involved somehow.

I agree MAST. I've played the 360 version for a few months now and I had the exact same experience as you. I think in regards to the 8 players versus 1 problem Dice are betting on the high number of players entering and moving from game to game to fill out games the majority of the time. This seems to me a hands off approach that ultimately detracts from the game which is a shame because Bad Company 2 is responsible for some of my best gaming experiences. While overhauling this part of the game would probably be a monumental task, a game that trades on it's multiplayer can do no less if it wishes to stay relevant. It would be nice if DICE put more resources into making the core game seamless rather than add expansions that may make matters worse - sadly I think this won't happen and reflects a greater problem in the industry.

Lag and poor matchmaking. People above a certain level should be isolated from lower level players and the presence of teams should factor in somehow to the matchmaking equation.
