They obviously weren't very good snipers, then. It's easy to hit someone on an ATV, and they could have mortared you out of the corner. "
Easy to hit someone on an ATV? Maybe if you drive in a straight line in the wide-open. This is also on the 360, if that makes a difference.

As for the mortar, I just sprint into a nearby building. I either get out of the range of the mortar fire, or I find myself under a ceiling that holds up long enough for the mortar fire to subside. The capture radius in this game is so ridiculous that the mortar fire isn't some huge advantage. It's laughable when people actually sit at the base of the flag to cap.

I played earlier today for a few hours. Both Conquest and Rush.

Opposite team half snipers. I get sniped a bit. I'm sure they all had a k/d of 5+. But guess what? Between each time a sniper would kill me, I was able to cap at least one flag if not two, or destroy one if not both targets. Me as a medic, ride an ATV, going too fast for snipers to hit me, then all I gotta use is a wall, or sometimes all I need is a tree. I camp until I get the point. Worst case scenario, they only took out one of our tickets (or none, if they're stupid enough to snipe on offense). Best case scenario, they delayed our cap by 10 seconds when I get revived or spawn on my squadmate, now knowing where the sniper is and which walls to hide behind. I cap the point, resulting in a much bigger loss for them, and by being closer to my teammates saving them from dying.

Or I get into a tank as an engineer and go on a 2000point rampage. Mortar strike? I just move out of the way. You marked me? Whoopdie-do, you're all snipers, and 10 other people on my team near me rushing to the point will kill off any of the people that are close enough to even benefit from knowing my position. Case in point: snipers are minor nuisances, and always have been in Battlefield games. Go jerk off to your awesome k/d, and wonder why you're still in the bottom half of your team. Meanwhile, I'll be in the excitement, helping my bros, and winning on top of my team with 5000 points.

To everyone arguing that "you aren't helping your team rushing in over and over dying!" Well, just play for a few hours, and you'll eventually get the learning curve, so you don't die so easily next time. Hell, you might even serve as a great distraction, your one death allowing a better team-mate to get a double- or triple-kill, allowing him to take the point. Or go medic, so you can heal. Not to mention, when you revive someone with the paddles, it refunds the tickets to your team. So you have no excuse to hang back to save your team the tickets.

If you're playing the recon class like a sniper, you're doing it so wrong. Your team does not benefit from you, and any veterans of Battlefield will either laugh at you or hate you, depending on which team you're on.

All these points are moot. Even if you never recruited them, your character met them. They would still recognize you and remember you, and still treat you relatively friendly.

I named my character Wentz.

+10 points if you get this reference.

...no, I don't listen to them. I just thought it would be funny.

If you've been playing for 20 hours, and you haven't met Duncan, I've got some bad news for you.

(He's the main grey warden dude that recruits you in the very beginning)

-Main Character (Tank)
-Alistair (dual-tanking)
-Morrigan (dps, cc)
-Wynne (heals, buffs, occasional damage)

It's my Final Fantasy 1 set-up (Warrior, Warrior, Black Mage, Red Mage). Works so great with this game, since you usually fight large amounts of enemies and need two tanks to coordinate the battlefield, then mage with aoe dps.

Currently playing on hard, and I've only died once, and I just got done with the mage tower and just finished saving Redcliff. Might need to go to Nightmare.

My character's name is Hareton (human noble), and my dog's name is Throttler.

If anyone knows this reference without googling it, you are my new favorite person.

"players are able to press buttons to kiss a woman and remove her dress"

I'm sorry, but this sounds retarded. I hate quick time events, unless they're tastefully done and briefly interjected into a frantic pacing like in God of War. Otherwise, it's just a lame, gimmicky interaction that actually takes away from story, gameplay, and immersion. Even Resident Evil 5 suffered from a lot of arbitrary quick time events that just evoked an audible "ugh" from me while playing.

I can understand making compromises in relationships, I've had to make many myself, and it never really bothered me. But for something like video games, to me, is about personal enjoyment; and I wouldn't ever censor my own entertainment for another person's sake just because they'll "look at me and sigh." I'd move to a different room, or have them move, if it bothers them so much.

But maybe I'm just biased. I was an English Literature major, so I like my stuff gritty and uncensored, and I hate it when people get all stuffy and defensive about what could be a great story.
