About to tackle mission 28.

Don't worry about it. I've played all of the Metal Gear Solids (bar the PSP ones) and I've forgotten the plot of every one of them. I'm used to being confused.

I looked this up after the fact, and while Kikongo seems most common, it seems to be a random thing. I've not seen anyone else report English as a common factor, though.

Maybe I've just been spectacularly unlucky.

You know you can select multiple dudes (square button on PS) and then reassign them all at once?

Anyway, I liked this part, to a point. I felt good about solving the mystery, and having the option to do something about it.

Where it fell down, for me, was when the common factor among the sick dudes turned out to be that they all spoke English. That's pretty much everybody on the base, including Miller and Ocelot.

Who's running things while I'm out in the field? Is D-Horse in charge of intelligence now?

500 years ago, the Lumen Sages were at war with the Umbra Witches. The war ended when Fame Douglas founded the pan-dimensional fighting tournament known as Mortal Kombat.

The tournament was won by billionaire industrialist Heihachi Mishima, who threw his son into a volcano and put a bear in charge of his company, the Umbrella Corporation.

This led to the zombie outbreak in Steelport, which was quelled by Burt Reynolds and the super soldier known as Naked Snake. As a reward Snake had the title "Big Boss" bestowed upon him, which he thought was kinda shitty since he would have preferred money. The disillusioned Big Boss went off and founded his own PMC (the La-De-Dah-De-Doo-Dum) and then Skeletor blew up his helicopter.
