Ramblin' Rorie strikes again! And at the worst possible time: just quit my day job and have nothing but time to kill. I could see waaaay to many hours lost to following down this old well again. Loved this one on PS2, and the side content was indeed mammoth. I barely touched any of the hidden bosses because they got so dang powerful. Only one I ever beat was some bird creature that would wipe out any of my party members in one hit, but would somehow always miss attacks on my Yojimbo summon.

Fantastic! Speaking for someone who's never been to a convention, let along PAX, I loved getting a fan's eye-view of the showfloor and the Giant Bomb panels. Just like Vinny talks about with that fateful video, editing tells the story, and I liked the one you were cutting here. Seems like a fun event, and a great outlet for that pizazz and showmanship that makes Giantbomb one of a kind.

This is incredible. I've been looking to get a little more bombcast in my life. I clicked because I just played Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and had been thinking about listening to the podcast discussion of it again. This thread and idea are such a nice surprise, thanks for producing it!

It was back in 2008, my last year of high school before moving halfway across the country for university. I hadn't really gotten into podcasts other than the Penny-Arcade one they used to do, and since those had slowed down to a trickle by then, I decided to expand my library. It was actually on one of the PA podcasts that Jeff was once brought up, and having vaguely understood the whole Gerstmann-gate debacle at the time, I thought I'd check to see where he landed (from what I could hear on the podcast, he had a site called "giant bong." Needless to say, I had to do a bit of google searching before I found the proper website).

I was initially resistant to using the site itself, as it was too small and quirky compared to the outlet mall-style convenience of the one-stop shops of IGN and Gamespot. What I wanted out of game journalism, and gaming in genearl, changed after I listened to the August 6th, 2008 podcast out of nothing more than curiosity. Curiosity quickly gave way to interest, interest to enjoyment, enjoyment to honest to god attachment. I was fully hooked on the Bombcast by the time I left for post-secondary education, and I remember listening to these chuckleheads as my bus pulled into the station of my small university town. I've been a faithful listener to the Bombcast ever since, and giantbomb is my favorite site on the internet because of it. Over the next four years, a lot in my life changed -the best years of my life gave way to the worst, and everywhere in between. But one thing I knew I could always count on through all the ups and downs was hearing Ryan declare what day of the week it was like it was going to be the start of something spectacular. More often than not, he was right. Tuesdays aren't going to be the same without him.

Damn you Alex! I love this feature, but based on the headers, I've been working on an article of a similar nature the last week, and now I can't read yours for fear of looking embarrassing by comparison.

After Duke Nukem Forever, you'd think Gearbox would be less excited to pickup a troubled project like A:CM. Of course the success of Sleeping Dogs is just going to encourage more studios to try saving projects that can't be salvaged.

Wheeeeelp, that's disappointing. While I am interested in seeing Kratos portrayed as something other than a raging A-hole (I've never understood how people see him as a compelling character when literally about the only he is capable of, in any given situation, is killing things), how will this be anything but a retread? Granted, I called out the Dishonored trailer for making CG promises where it shouldn't, and there's nothing to say that this latest franchise won't bring something new to the table, but the way they're selling it makes it sound like the same old song and dance.

The bomb crew have been talking about the effects of this prolonged generation cycle for a while and this seems like another response to it. The franchise needs a complete overhaul, but it won't make sense until we have new hardware to reinforce the impact of trying something new? Mechanically, the GoW franchise has always been reliable but it's been the same for seven years, it's time for an upgrade.
