Last item needed in Shadow Complex....

Bottom right corner of the map, where the really fast conveyor belt continuously pulls you towards a furnace, I have the Fusion helmet but I still get killed by the heat/radiation- is this just another flaw in the game?

Help a FIFA newbie out?

I really like the way FIFA plays. I'm borrowing 08, but now I wanna go more in depth. Is there a FIFA that's good for noobs? Like something with a decent training mode that'll really explain to me what I should be doing?

The FIFA 10 demo is what drew me in and I really am considering buying one of these games. And I really find it nearly impossible to get into sports games, so this is kind of a big deal for me.

Stupid.

Former SC fans are really upset that you can't drag lifeless bodies? Really? Why is there so much trash talking for the removal of the more tedious aspects of SC? I saw one person complain that you can't pick up soda cans or whistle anymore. And then complain about the "stupid AI." Let's be real here:

If you see a soda can come flying out of a dark corner, or head a weird sounding whistle that could not possibly be a bird, as a soldier, merc, terrorist, whatever- would you really just go investigate on your own?

If stealth games were as realistic as everyone wanted them to be, they wouldn't be games or fun, for that matter. They'd be simulations. Tedious, grinding, frustrating and boring simulations. I, for one, am glad Ubi Montreal focused on making this game more fun and fantasy oriented. Chaos Theory was excellent, don't get me wrong- but did anyone care about the story or even the main character across any of the earlier entires? My guess is hardly. And 2 of the early SC games were completely ruined by Ubi's black sheep- Ubisoft Shanghai. Of course I'm talking about Pandora Tomorrow and Double Agent.

It's just a sad thing to see gamers get so jaded about some of their games being more accessible or fun.

And you CAN move bodies- you just do it in a context that makes much more sense. When they're standing and when they're not dead weight. That's how I'd do it in real-life.... *snicker*

The Splinter Cell Series and You (or me, really)

So today marks the second time I will be buying an Xbox 360... for a Splinter Cell game. And the third time I will be buying a console for one. You could say that SC and I are old pals.

The first Xbox didn't really do anything for me until SC was announced. I loved stealth games and this had more of a realistic, tactical edge to it. And at the time, the graphics were mind-blowing. Game was awesome, needless to day, played it over and over, yadda yadda. Second gets devved by Ubisoft Shanghai, and I am less than impressed. Chaos Theory is awesome, devved by Ubi Montreal of course, and I love it. To this day.

As time goes by, the 360 comes out, and Double Agent is announced. I get excited and by a 360 in anticipation. I find out that it's being developed by Shanghai. Dammit. Enthusiasm drops from 11 to a 7. I get it. I play it on a rent. Meh.

So when the first screens of Conviction come out with Sam looking like a freshly-minted hobo, I take a look at the article in GI. I read about how he can throw tables and chairs, and Washington DC, etc. I roll my eyes, throw magazine away.

Fast-forward to E3 '09 and the "new" Conviction. I am astonished. Completely speechless. Almost a year later, I demo it on a friend's 360.

Today I traded in my PS3.

Tomorrow I'm getting a 360 and a copy of Conviction.

Wow.

GBA Love- all around.

SO I've collected a ton of GBA games in the past  month as I've previously stated, and am having a hell of an aweosme time with them.
Advance Wars is proving to be my darling. That game has spent more time in my Micro, my SP and my (broken) DS than any other title. Can't put it down.
Lovin' it.
Lovin' it.

Final Fantasy VI- whoever said this version got short-changed, I have to vehemently disagree with. So far I have been enjoying a very immersive game with very-well realized characters and scenes that are still pretty awesome even today.

Big things happenin'.

Mario & Luigi RPGs are always awesome and so I finally started playing All Star Saga. The humor is great. It surprises me constantly where no other RPG can: its gameplay. At one point you're asked to hold still for a passport photo and expressly told not to pose with the d-pad.... Of course, I had to. Killer and clever combat systems. One of the few games I genuinely love.
Even when it's in Japanese, I want it. Bad.

A fighter in the pocket is worth... well... I dunno, but whatever it is, it is awesome for sure. Complain all you want about the button config, but this is SFA3. And I can take it anywhere. Awesome.
I hate Sodom.

I just need one game...

One game to complete my GBA collection. Tactics Orge: Knight of Lodis. I love SRPG and this is supposedly one of the best. I'd totally be willing to trade someone for their copy or hell even just buy it. And hey, if anyone just doesn't want it, I'll gladly take it off their hands.

A Very GBA Christmas.

I got a bunch of GBA games for Christmas while visiting family in Michigan these past few weeks. I figured it'd be rude to lug my PS3 over, so the GBA was a natural choice. I recently picked up Golden Sun and FFVI Advance and then added these gems to my collection:

Street Fighter Alpha 3
Advance Wars
Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising
Riviera: The Promised Land
Wario Land 4
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga

And in addition to that, I also bought a Game Boy Micro.

Now if I could just find Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis, WarioWare, Rhythm Tengoku, Metal Slug Advance, and Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.  Also, <strike>Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2</strike>

Gamestop rant.

Gamestop.com- why the f*** is so much of your stock online listed as "currently unavailable online?" What's the point of putting it up on your website? I swear, for a game's specialty retail outlet, you all do the sh****est job of actually selling the games, saying nothing of your various pre-order and used games scams.
