^ naah, not alternate universe. based in the same game, only you have selectable main character now between the regular guy and a new girl, s links will be different based on the character, and according to the gaf they're adding more events, new music tracks etc in there as well.
As an old video on 1up said, I'd like to see the social links be more of a part of the central storyline as well, eg P4 did it in one instance where you receive text messages relating to the central storyline after the whole hospital scene, I'd like to see more events like that..
P3 Portable has been confirmed in the latest famitsu issue, on top of that the game will have a new female protagonist, how this shapes the events of the game, or whether this is a simple skin-swap, is not yet known.
And I don't see what blank slate has to do with it at all. That's more of a personality thing than physical appearance.
I'm thinking more like Mass Effect, you know, having both personality and physical appearance be based on the player's choosing, and sure i would love cell-shaded graphics. I'm all for that.
Full on character creation for your MC. I mean he's supposed to be a blank slate anyway right, why not take it the next logical step. The next-gen consoles can do all the scenes and stuff in real time i imagine (unless it's on the wii >_>)
