Has Giantbomb made us Persona fans ?
" Hell yeah, I'd never heard of the Persona series until Jeff and Vinny introduced it to me. "Yeah the same for me :P
I am just happy more people got to play the games that normaly they would just not buy heres hopeingfor a persona 5 ER =]
The Endurance Run is the reason I bought a PS2 and Persona 3. So, yeah, it did make me a Persona fan.
Yepp, after watching a couple of episodes I bought Persona 4 and a little while later I purchased Persona 3:FES
So yeah Im a huge Persona fan now, I never miss an episode of the ER, I also wanna try other Megami Tensei games now like Digital Devil Saga
And one of my most wanted games right now is a Persona game on PS3 taking full advantage of it, an X360 version would also be good
I wonder if that is ever gonna happen...
Back on topic though, I became a Persona/MegaTen fan only 5-6 months before the ER was started, but I think that it would've made me a fan, had I not been already.
I was a fan of a number of SMT games beforehand.
Still, the ER has certainly added a greater appreciation for the franchise.
Also, the ER reminded me to pick up P4, which had completely slipped my mind.
Hearing that you cast spells in Persona 3 by blowing your brains out with a gun made me a Persona fan. I preordered two copies and turned my boss into a Persona fan, as well. Then she bought the next round for the both of us when P4 came out. (She still hasn't beat P4 yet, but I've told her about the ER, and she's looking forward to seeing it in archive after she's done.)
The Endurance Run is what keeps me coming back to this site. I think Vinny and Jeff are the absolute perfect hosts: I can't imagine a better fit of plot-oriented wacky JRPG and hilarious genial personalities.
Keep up the excellent work, y'all.
Yes and no. Giant Bomb's ER gave me the last push I needed to try out the series. I had heard about the SMT games from X-Play and the 1Up Show where much of the discussion often drifted off to Digital Devil Saga's Argilla's breasts. So, I was aware that the SMT series was not your everyday FF clone. However, upon seeing the social link aspect of the game, I decided to take a chance and picked up Persona 3 FES. I quickly fell in love with that game and so picked up P4. I'm going to go back and try out some of the other games in the series eventually, and of course will purchase the next Persona game when it arrives Stateside. So, I thank GB for if not introducing me to SMT, then for convincing me that it's a franchise worth my time and money.
YES! I just preordered Persona for the PSP. I have never even played Persona 4 and yet it is one of my favorite games ever just because of the ER.
The Endurance Run made me buy a PS2 with Persona 3 FES and Persona 4. I had heard about the series before (mainly shooting your head off to fight), but I always ignored it and considered it some JRPG I wouldn't care about. When I saw it in action in the Endurance Run I felt like I needed to experience the series on my own and I'm glad that I did.
Persona 3 made me a Persona fan. The Endurance Run however, is what made me a Giant Bomb fan.
And couldn't be happier for that!
Also happy that GB and ER got so many others into Persona (or at the very least P4).
Yeah, it got me playing Persona 3 though I had intended on playing it anyway, seeing P4 just made me bump it up my list.
I never heard of any of these Shin Megami games before the Endurance Run; moreso I never played a single Atlus-published title. The Endurance Run was like 50 hours of a review that convinced me to play it for myself, and after thoroughly enjoying P4 for myself I'd put my trust into any Atlus game.
To be honest I didn't even know about the game before it, after watching some endurance runs I decided to buy it. So I have t say it definitely made me a fan.
Kind of hard to say. I never played an SMT game. But once I got a PS2, I got Persona 3 since it was "The big thing" on NeoGAF. But everyone warned people that Persona 4 was such a better game. I did get it, because I knew I had to get it. Plus watching a few episodes of the Endurance Run convinced me to not only get the game sooner than later, but that I should play it sooner. And I did. I'm 17 hours into Persona 3, stopped, then played Persona 4 for a month and beat it.
I never even heard of the series before their, "It's a website! About video games!" movie from way back.
After cracking up every weekday for months, like back in the Joel Mystery Science Theater 3000 days, I'm hooked. I might need to buy myself a $99 PS2 and get in on this Chie action.
