But yea there is a decent about on that list that are also on PC. But what i am saying is where are all the really break out PC games for us to buy and go crazy over? EntwineX said:
""Cherrypopp1ns said:"EntwineX said:So there's no reason to be a PC gamer because 8800GTX can't max out Crysis? :/ I'm still not sure what your point is, either top of the line hardware is too expensive, there aren't game that utilize it, or games aren't optimized well enough. For the 2 first ones there's an easy solution, don't buy that expensive hardware if you feel it has no use. For the latter one, games being sick demanding on very high compared to high is common, it's not always about bad optimization."Only a hardware enthusiast buys something like that, you definately don't need to spend that much to play games on PC. If you buy a rig like that, and then feel bitter about it because there are no games to take advantage of it, you only have yourself to blame. Why on earth would a software company make a game targeted to people who own that type of rigs, when it would cost more money to develop and would reduce the potential buyers into a handfull of rich nerds.
"
why not optimize the high end? is what you are saying? Well what i am saying is that, well lets look at the 8800gtx. right now it cant run crysis on very high above 20 fps at 1680... That card was high end one year ago. Now that cant run many of the newer games on very high either.... sooo when are they going to utilize the hardware like you were saying?"
I'm not a hardware enthusiast, I don't mind lowering some settings for extra frames and I could never imagine myself paying over 1k for a gaming PC, so I will propably never really understand the mindset of people like you. I've always thought it's obvious that the price of hardware rises exponentially the higher the settings you want, the step from med to high ain't that expensive, but from high to maxed it is while the visual difference is smaller. It has always been like this with PC gaming, and other areas of technology as well. If you want the best you gotta pay, hardware enthusiasts should know this very well. It is not a flaw with PC gaming, it is your own choice.
To me, and many others, there are still plenty of reasons to be a PC gamer, Spore, SC2, and D3 are hardly hardware intensive at all, neither are Stalker, SOASE, The Witcher or Civ4. And Crysis looks good even on md/high.
As a side note. I think leaving very high settings out of Crysis would had made lot of people happier, they would had played the game on the same level of detail they are now, but they would had thought they are "maxing it out" and been happy.
"
those games you mentoined arent even out yet. Spore is more of a casual game, i have a feeling from looking at SC2 that it will use higher rigs, and D3 does look decent on hardware. Crysis does look decent on those settings, but crysis itself isnt the most fun game compared to console shooters.
"
SOME of them will be proted.. but games like Killzone 2, LBP, Infamous, MGS4, and a lot more will never get ported to PC, so why even add them to that list? Lol, makes no sense.
"
OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG the whole point of this fucking theard is about console games vs pc games and why should i blow more then 300 bucks ( on a 360) or 500 (on a ps3) to play most of these games?????????? shit
