a lot of them got ported over later. But yea there is a decent about on that list that are also on PC. But what i am saying is where are all the really break out PC games for us to buy and go crazy over? EntwineX said:

"Only a hardware enthusiast buys something like that, you definately don't need to spend that much to play games on PC. If you buy a rig like that, and then feel bitter about it because there are no games to take advantage of it, you only have yourself to blame. Why on earth would a software company make a game targeted to people who own that type of rigs, when it would cost more money to develop and would reduce the potential buyers into a handfull of rich nerds.
"

why not optimize the high end? is what you are saying? Well what i am saying is that, well lets look at the 8800gtx. right now it cant run crysis on very high above 20 fps at 1680... That card was high end one year ago. Now that cant run many of the newer games on very high either.... sooo when are they going to utilize the hardware like you were saying?"
So there's no reason to be a PC gamer because 8800GTX can't max out Crysis? :/ I'm still not sure what your point is, either top of the line hardware is too expensive, there aren't game that utilize it, or games aren't optimized well enough. For the 2 first ones there's an easy solution, don't buy that expensive hardware if you feel it has no use. For the latter one, games being sick demanding on very high compared to high is common, it's not always about bad optimization.

I'm not a hardware enthusiast, I don't mind lowering some settings for extra frames and I could never imagine myself paying over 1k for a gaming PC, so I will propably never really understand the mindset of people like you. I've always thought it's obvious that the price of hardware rises exponentially the higher the settings you want, the step from med to high ain't that expensive, but from high to maxed it is while the visual difference is smaller. It has always been like this with PC gaming, and other areas of technology as well. If you want the best you gotta pay, hardware enthusiasts should know this very well. It is not a flaw with PC gaming, it is your own choice.

To me, and many others, there are still plenty of reasons to be a PC gamer, Spore, SC2, and D3 are hardly hardware intensive at all, neither are Stalker, SOASE, The Witcher or Civ4. And Crysis looks good even on md/high.

As a side note. I think leaving very high settings out of Crysis would had made lot of people happier, they would had played the game on the same level of detail they are now, but they would had thought they are "maxing it out" and been happy.
"

those games you mentoined arent even out yet. Spore is more of a casual game, i have a feeling from looking at SC2 that it will use higher rigs, and D3 does look decent on hardware. Crysis does look decent on those settings, but crysis itself  isnt the most fun game compared to console shooters.
"

SOME of them will be proted.. but games like Killzone 2, LBP, Infamous, MGS4, and a lot more will never get ported to PC, so why even add them to that list? Lol, makes no sense.
"

OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG the whole point of this fucking theard is about console games vs pc games and why should i blow more then 300 bucks ( on a 360) or 500 (on a ps3) to play most of these games?????????? shit

ughhh

4870x2  450-500

Q6600-194

antex 1200 $215

HDD - $100

ram 4 gigs -$100

MB (thats motherboard ...) to get one that is high end and that will use pci x16 2.0 and have a good FSB        $450

Power supply  $330

Then sound card is around 100

Monitor.$380

this does add up to 2300

The GRAND TOTAL comes out to about 2300-2400

OR you can just by one pre build with different specs for $3900 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227076

yea i can trim down a few prices here and there, but then you have to add on shipping and tax, which fucking kill you. shipping add like abot 150 and tax about 200

shit adds up

"larger multiplayer COD4 on consoles only 16 players.... while in PC it can have over 40..."

on resistance its like over 60. but that doesnt mean it is a better multiplayer. Me personally, I enjoy GoW the most, bc its intimate. Dont get me wrong, i love faster games to, i still go on and play quake 4.

Even UT3, but not as many people go on and play that and they did in UT 2004.

GTA4

Killzone 2

Fallout 3

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Tekken 6

Left 4 Dead

Dead Space

Mario Kart Wii

Little Big Planet

Fable 2

Halo Wars

Borderlands

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Saints Row 2

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames

Ninja Gaiden 2

Fracture

Tom Clancy's EndWar

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Infamous

Too Human

Devil May Cry 4

Soul Calibur IV

Dead Space

No More Heroes

Battlefield: Bad Company

Project Origin

Far Cry 2

Silent Hill 5

Burnout Paradise

C&C red alert 3

These are games that are slated if not already released for 2008 for consoles.... Yes there are some PC games here but that is bc they are also on consoles

Now for PC exclusive you got

Spore

Wow expansion

warhammer online

Crysis warhead (an optimized version of crysis)

and huxley lolol

Yes i know most of these games that are also on consoles will run better on pc, but by how much? And just bc of the mouse and keyboard? And even then more people will buy them on consoles which leads to a larger multiplayer.

Now maybe some of you will see my point

shit i guess i need to give you a play by play... ok shit

4870x2 (which is what HIGH END IS. the 4870 is mid range u noob)-gonna be 450-500

Q6600-194 (there was just a price drop on this, and this is NOT high end either. If you want high end http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115026 )

antex 1200 $215 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043&Tpk=Antec%2bTwelve

HDD - $100 if you only want one, which high end usually have 2 for raid conigs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145166&cm_sp=DailyDeal-_-22-145-166-_-Homepage

ram 4 gigs -$100 ram is cheap nowadays http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145194

MB (thats motherboard ...) to get one that is high end and that will use pci x16 2.0 and have a good FSB $450 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131321

Power supply to "Future proof it", you need something that will let you have sli on the high end card you currently have... that is a LOT of power needed. $330 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817121040

Then sound card is around 100, AND i wont even go into power protection.

Monitor. What is the point in having all this GPU power without a high end monitor? $380 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001282
