There’s nothing wrong with speaking to your experience and perspective. But once you turn that into a declarative statement based only on your personal experience, it becomes a kinda cruddy thing to say. And using a mocking voice to portray someone who did experience that doesn’t help. Hopefully this doesn’t come off as condescending, I changed this post about 30 times, haha.

@noelveiga: Correct. Dragons Trap was developed by LizardCube and published by DotEmu, and this one is developed by Atlier and published by FDG, I believe. So its aesthetics seem to be cribbing off the surprise success of Dragons Trap but not connected to that remake at all. It DOES have the original WonderBoy creator working on this one though, so it’s a trade off.
@ravelle: I thought I was crazy, too! Yeah that one’s audio was pretty off. I feel so bad for Ben having to take on all the production out of nowhere. He gave his all! Very admirable.
Giant Bomb has been about subjective reviews from reasonably informed personalities from the very beginning. It was a large impetus for the site in the first place. If you don’t buy Dan’s judgement on a game, it’s doing its job because you know enough about him to make that conclusion. Therefore, where is the problem?
I want to like this. I love Abby and Ben! But this whole thing feels like hanging out with two friends that keep talking in inside jokes that you don't know. All you can do is chuckle and pretend you get it and hope you don't look stupid.
As long as a lot of people are enjoying it, I'm happy, though! Just wish I did, too.
