" Agreed, lol, they are fun to post in even though I think it's pointless. But I must say,I think that atheist are just as bad as religious people when it comes to pushing their beliefs in people.Atheist spend as much time trying to convince people that their is not a God as religious people spend trying to prove that there is a God.It's all just different forms of faith. "
OMG, this topic is amazing. I could not have said that better. A topic like this and I find, not one, but two people who can be even headed and reasonable when it comes to matters of politics and religion.
" @Cloneslayer: It actually is, I understand your point. It is a nation full of religious people, but that doesn't make it more right to make it a nation run with religious values, it should be pretty secular. And as much as you'd like to believe a whole lot of politicians have advocated and practiced this. Now the South... "
Oh, I'm not trying to say its right in anyway. I'm just saying thats how it is.
Your saying the U.S. is not a christian nation, in terms of the way it should be. I'm saying the U.S. is a christian nation, in terms of the way it is.
I think we a @artofwar420 said:
" @Cloneslayer: Wait, so are we on the same side here? I can't tell. "
" @Gmanall: The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. You know very well that a negative claim is unprovable. But a claim that demands people ignore their evidence-processing faculties is worthless. "God exists" is a statement that one day might be proven, but until it is, the statement "God doesn't exist" is axiomatic. "
Then I shall see you at the judgement seat. 8) "
wow, I like how you made a valid point and then he threw that at you. I guess thats why it takes two to have a valid argument.
It is hard for people to be religious and logical or am I the only one?
" @Cloneslayer: Independent of demographics, the United States is not supposed to be gubernatorially a religious nation, separation between church and state, that's the way it's supposed to be. Now if the majority of people are religious, so be it, but don't let JFK down. Come on. "
you can't say "independent of demographics". Being a democracy makes everything about demographics. If we have a majority of white Christians, we become a white christian nation. If the majority is Mexican Muslims (obviously being hypothetical as most Mexicans are not Muslim) we become a nation of Mexican Muslims. It should become increasingly obvious now a days that some 200 year old piece of paper doesn't not decide what our nation is, since the only time its ever used is when its convenient for one side of another.
Sure, who wouldn't love the dream of a perfectly equal nation, in terms of beliefs, religion, and race. But its not happening soon.
" LOL,I love topics like this. You get to read walls and walls of text written by people who are trying their hardest to sound as smart as possible while they explain away their opinions.Because that's all they are, opinions.Truth is don't none of you mofo's know, for a fact ,how any of this shit got here, especially us.And don't give me that "we're engaging each other on the subject" shit because all I'm reading is a bunch of people arguing and at the end of the day both sides will still have the same beliefs. "
I actually agree. But topics are like these are fun to post in.
