@fourthline: not true at all. In fact fortnite has famously ignored the google play store for android, as well as ignored steam on pc. The thing is you literally can't ignore the App Store if you want to be available on Apple. ISP's and smart tv manufacturers aren't really a factor. Xbox and playstation don't force you to use their storefronts in the same way as Apple does, and I doubt they're really that concerned about nintendo.

Also I think you're underestimating just how big Fortnite really is. Epic's nuclear option (removing Fortnite from the App store totally SHOULD worry Apple.

I don't know anything about the legislation in the US, but the European Commission tends to come down pretty hard on most cases of monopoly abuse. Of course, you can't just file a suit with the EC but this might end up there at some point.

I'm of the mind that Epic gets a bad rep, mainly because people don't want to use the EGS, but it would be very fucking easy for them to use their position for evil and they kinda don't... People don't really trust their intentions and rightly point out that usually their 'solution' is actually the same problem only slightly less egregious. But I think it might be baby steps and they might be judged a bit too harshly.

And the other thing is Apple has a lot to lose if people stop looking up to them as a healthy premium brand. I'm not going to deny they make quality products (hell, I love my iPad and iPhone) but their brand and reputation is a huge factor in their success. People who look a bit closer of course already know that the App store's rates are extortionate, but looking a bit closer isn't what the general public does.

I do love the acknowledgement of the EU crowd.

But for most Europeans, I think the current streaming times are just fine. There will probably be a couple of people who'd be very happy with this, but I think a majority would sooner stay up til or past midnight to watch something, rather than watch streams in the morning.

It would probably work best for people in Asia or Australia... and of course Europeans that have mornings as their viewing time. If you want to do something for them, then that's great. If your goal is to reach as many Europeans as possible, though, your lunchtime is probably the best time slot.

@bollard: Looking at prices from 2005 and then correcting for inflation only works if the product is the same. It's not. For one, like you say they have become much more expensive to make.

However, the market has grown massively as well. Also there's now micro-transactions, loot boxes, DLC passes, season passes, like 20 different special editions per title, distribution has shifted to online... it's a bit funny that you go deep on the global economics but then take what a game is pretty much at face value.

I think a lot of people would gladly pay a bit more for games if that would mean the industry does away with things like crunch culture and gambling mechanics, but the industry hasn't really given anyone a reason to believe anyone is going to benefit from it except top level executives and share holders.

There should be like a Fair Trade label for AAA games.

I only have one question: can I play dress-up with my characters?

Believe it or not, that part about Original Sin 2 (where there's only one look per armor type for your character) bummed me out to the point where I stopped playing.

Consult your physician and close this thread?

So much this.

Nobody here is an expert, and if they were they still don't know you. Talk to a professional and work out something you'd be comfortable with. And don't go looking on the internet at what other people do or say.

That said, your goal sounds very ambitious, probably unhealthily so. But again, I don't know you.

Oh, also: getting healthy is a good thing, so definitely go for that. But being fat is no reason to hate yourself or your body. You'd probably need to look at self confidence and acceptance as well because there will always be another thing to feel insecure about. In and of itself it's not necessarily a body issue as much as a mental issue. I'm sure someone will point out that those tend to go hand in hand, which is probably true, but rather than explore that here it's probably another thing to go talk to a professional about.

As a European my perspective on this is a little bit warped, but all I can say it's a good thing Americans are waking up to the fact 'socialism' isn't necessarily a dirty word and unbridled capitalism has some serious downsides. Regardless of whether Sanders wins this time around, his ideas have been gaining traction and simply the idea that there are other valid ways to handle things rather than trickle down economics is a big win going forward.

Oreo's are a cereal in my book. Grab bowl, fill with oreo's, add milk, eat with a spoon.

So maybe someone can answer this for me: In the series Nilfgaard and The Wild Hunt appear to be pretty much the same thing, or at least working very closely together. Is this canon? In TW3 they seem to be pretty separated.
