I was surprised with how well it looked and how smooth it ran on my very modest pc.

Only thing bugging me is how there's no way to turn off depth of field. It goes a bit crazy sometimes in foggy areas and even without that I'm not a fan of that stuff.

Don't know what they're doing wrong at pcgamer, but 'really bad' is no way to assess how the game runs...

I've played up to 1960, my first impressions:

- Game runs and looks pretty sweet on my modest rig.

- Inglourious Basterds: The Game is as good a description as you're gonna get.

- Game's pretty easy! I might start over on Ãœber difficulty, but I doubt that'll live up to the name.

- AI really isn't that great. On top of that, most enemies can't hit the side of a barn.

- Best thing about the gameplay is the sandboxy design. You can tackle a section any way you please with all approaches pretty evenly valid and effective.

just be careful handling that new processor... you can't really break it unless you physically damage it, but physically damaging it isn't that hard.

I was an early champion of the Wii, and the same was true for Kinect. I've spent years playing games with controllers, but the concept of interacting with games on a physical level, echoing a large part of my youth, has always been a tantalizing prospect. In the past 10 years, it seemed like games were heading in that direction.

I don't think enough people feel this way to really support Kinect as a platform. At least the Wii had WiiSports, but that bunch of bundled in gimmicks has never really been matched (let alone surpassed) gameplay/fun wise.

The kinect doesn't even have that... I honestly can't think of a single Kinect game I would be interested in playing.

As far as motion controlled games go, I think they had a fair chance. Bottomline is that apart from WiiSports, motion control just hasn't delivered. It's just not that good. You can blame the tech, you can blame the devs... you can blame anything you want. I do feel, though, if it really had potential at least some of that would've surfaced.

People tried it and didn't like it. Fair enough, let's move on.

Am I crazy, or wasn't Bonnie one of the survivors from 400 Days?

Yup, and Tavia was the woman picking them up at the end.

Edit: I mean she was.

A lot of tech companies have contracts that either prevent people from working on their own stuff in their own time or gives them a stake in whatever it is people make. That said, I doubt someone as high profile as Carmack would have that kind of contract. Zenimax sueing, on the other hand, makes me think he might have...

Seems like people are making a bigger deal of this news than it actually is...

Tony Hawk's dead, Guitar Hero's dead... might as well carry on working on whatever cod project it is they're working on now. It's not like they have some crazy new ip in the works that gets binned now.

They've been doing whatever Activision tells them to for years. Simple iterations of franchises that have been running too long anyway. There's no wildly visionary creativity lost here, might as well make it official.

Maybe Joel Jewett and Scott Pease can go do something new and exciting now. Other than that there's nothing to see here, really.

I don't like how the game forces you into certain trains of thought.

-Greenleaf: I knew what was up as soon as she opened the door, yet you have to play out the scene and then act all surprised at that shocker reveal?

-Crane: Even though you have the opportunity to tell Snow you don't think Crane is the killer, this doesnt change ANYTHING in the script. You will still act as though you're completely tunnelvisioned on him.

They handled this pretty well with the woodsman in Ep. 1, but with the whole shtick of the game being how your decisions affect the story you're being funneled down a critical path pretty hard. Thinking like a detective and keeping your options open isnt how you're supposed to approach this game, apparently.

Other than that I'm enjoying it quite a lot, except for the ridiculously slow pace at which the Ep's are released.

i think the 1st 5 options in the poll make up 99% of the possibilities in more or less equal shares
