Knowing the studio behind Lollipop Chainsaw makes me a little cautious, but optimistically so. I also am curious about Max Payne 3, even though I never played the first two. I probably should go back to them at some point, but there are too many other games coming out and already in my backlog.

Game: Resident Evil 5

Best: Critical head shots (so satisfying).

Worst: Every line of dialogue and every attempt at having a plot. Also, Sheva using all the ammo I don't want her to use, and all the green herbs that I entrusted her with.

@ImmortalSaiyan: @Icemael: @Zippedbinders: Thanks for the advice, everyone. I picked up Bayonetta yesterday and played for two hours, and already have no clue what is going on with the story. But the style and unabashed lunacy is more than enough to keep me interested. That and the combat is really good, and sort of reminiscent of Viewtiful Joe. I'll definitely do a user review or blog post about it after I've played through most or all of it.

Due to overwhelming support, Bayonetta will be the one I'll get. I've been reading reviews that complain about the amount of cutscenes. Is there really that many?

You're right that is quite the dilemma. Either way you can't go wrong, it depends on what you want. A quirky ,combo heavy game is the vein of Devil May Cry or a difficult and precise method of combat.

Is Bayonetta pretty challenging as well? The demo didn't seem to be, but it was literally only a few minutes of play time.

I'm getting that third-person action fighting game itch again, and these two games seem like the best options to sooth it. I already played some of Ninja Gaiden a while back, but I never finished it. I played the demo for Bayonetta and thought it played pretty similarly, but with better graphics and maybe some better level design. I'm not for sure though, hence the poll.
