GiantBomb is a modern interactive gaming portal, Web 2.0 if you wish. The fact that everyone is allowed to contribute material has endless amounts of potential and is the right way to go, in my opinion. But there is one aspect in which this site isn't different from all the other, more traditional ones.

It offers very little information about games that are less mainstream. In my opinion, the gaming industry and especially its audience have grown to such size that the games offered by the mainstream companies, so called AAA games, are not enough to satisfy the wants of the growing market. Those wants are starting to be fulfilled by alternative and indie games, offering more innovation or controversy that the big companies can't afford. Those games suffer frock lack of exposure due to small or no budges spent on advertising, but that does not mean they are any worse than the AAA titles. Those games are in fact what many of us need and are looking for, the innovation we so miss from the old days of gaming.

This site has the potential to help other gamers find those games and learn more about them. Since the day I first heard of Giant Bomb,  I promised myself that I will contribute to the site actively and help it grow, as it build on concepts I really believe in. And I believe the absolute best way to do this, besides simply contributing screenshots and reviews, is to encourage other people to share their experiences with indie games so that other people who may be looking for innovation might find information about them on this site.

So, if you like indie games as I do, or believe that the mainstream games lack the innovation, please contribute to this cause. If you're playing any games that don't yet have reviews or descriptions on this site, please spend 5 minutes of your time on adding some content to their pages. Or if you believe in this cause, but don't yet know about indie games or haven't played any, spend some time on exploring the subject and you might find something that you have been missing from gaming for a long time now. You don't even have to buy all those games, almost every indie game I know of offers the first hour of game play for free as a demo version.

I would recommend some indie game sites, but I don't want it to be seen as advertisement. If you're interested, I recommend a site in my personal off Giant Bomb blog, to which a link you can find in my introduction or simply PM me or something for info.

For now I’ve tried out a couple of not mainstream games to which sites I will try to contribute as much as I can.
