@cikame: I feel like "fucked over multiple types of games, even retroactively" is gonna be a real tough thing to beat, but it's not even Q4 yet, baby!

Since one of if my superpowers is finding spelling errors (And making them...), "You need top place bombs with strategy to effectively kill your enemies." is making me irrationally annoyed. It's "to place", dang it!

Anyway, apparently Super Bomberman R is $40 on Steam, and that's also way too much money for Bomberman in this day and age

Yeah, Unity might have done its "Hold my beer!" moment.

Brendan Sheffield wrote a featured blog on Game Developer basically telling people to get away from Unity if they can, because the trust is broken (https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/the-death-of-unity)

Garry of Garry's Mod fame was linked earlier.

People are delisting their games to not deal with this absolute bullshit.

And Unity's response so far seems to be doubling down and claiming people are just too dumb to understand what's happening, while resignations are hitting them from within over it.

I think it was the esteemed Will Smith that said Unity doesn't "dog food" their own engine, meaning they don't really have an internal division trying to use it to make big games and therefore improve workflow etc (for comparison, Epic uses Fortnite now and famously shipped Gears of War to prove the engine worked). They don't really know what they're doing anymore, and have completely lost it.

Embracer can still do worse though! Is this like sports where I root for my own country?

Oh hey, one of my favorite properties, so I'll try not to geek out!

Shame about the game, but at least the designs of the mechas are kinda neat?

I remember someone wrote that there was like an SRPG of Appleseed in the 80's, which would have been pretty notable as it would be early Fire Emblem territory and maybe predate Laser Squad, but as I tried to look it seems someone mixed up a video game with a ttrpg supplement.

Okay, so in Pokémon Gold/Silver, apparently this happens (you fight the protagonist of the Red/Blue games!) , but I dunno if this qualifies as the protagonist going "evil" per se so much as just being a boss. Does this still fall in under "Rogue Protagonist"? Yes, no?

Any other memorable "fighting the character you played as" moments? I think you can fight the protagonist of Armored Core 4 in For Answer, for instance.

I'll go with "default" or medium in almost all cases. Notable exceptions were inFamous, which has a tutorial that then suggested "hey, you should do this on hard", so I did (it gets kinda spammy with your powers at that point...) , and Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius where I went with the "this is how it's meant to be played difficulty" for like half the game and then the difficulty spiked way the hell up because I hadn't been doing good enough and I gradually lowered it until I finally said "screw it" and went with the mode where you basically steamroll everything just to get through it.

As a side note, the Halo games going "Heroic is how it's meant to be played!" but defaulting to "medium" or whatever is pretty ridiculous. Also, I actually find them challenging enough on default.

You're good people, both for suggesting what was a very well-recieved gift, and for making me laugh on this warm but kinda crummy day.

..also, isn't the projected price point of the Amico basically higher than the Switch now? And you can use the Joy-Con as 2 controllers!

Trigger Heart Exelica is called Triggerheart Exelica (without the space) in literally the first sentence of the article, and that should probably be an alias since it's what Google and Wikipedia seem to prefer
