The worst part (as both Chip and Jess have observed) is that they clearly did it on the final day of the month to avoid having to pay health insurance fees for everyone they unceremoniously laid off. Absolutely ghoulish behavior, fuck everyone at Embracer.

And here I thought they did it because all eyes were on Starfield. But yes, absolutely ghoulish, fuck everyone at Embracer indeed

This sucks, and the timing of the announcement makes me side-eye Embracer a whole bunch. There's some very storied franchises coming out of Volition, so I guess we'll put them in the annals next to Looking Glass or something now.

I'm also thinking especially of Jess and soon-to-be-husband Chip, this year's been awful for them on the job front.

@borgmaster: That's really, really funny. I mean, props to 'em for being kinda smart kids (wanting to wreck the CD drive in the PS1 excluded, I guess), but wow, that is hilarious! I guess that's what Trip saw in 'em though?

I never knew that Naughty Dog were about to call it quits before Way of the Warrior, that's really interesting. The next game they did, the "Sonic-ass" game, turned out pretty good too.

I kinda wanna watch a playthrough of Alone in the Dark now, too..

Thanks for a good write-up duder!

@sparky_buzzsaw: Ok, see, big corporations are like aircraft carriers, big and unwieldy and slow to turn, so by removing the unimportant parts like the conning tower, the engine room, the keel and all the bunks, it'll flip over in the water way faster!

The Anthem servers are still up!?

Anyway, seems they're letting go of a bunch of writers, including the lead writer for Baldur's Gate, so Dreadwolf might be the last hurrah of story and characters being a focus I guess. Just baffling all around

Hi again

I want to remember the name of another game too, thank you in advance for your help.

- PC game

- action game

- most probably between 2000 and 2010

-you start in a snowy area (I think all of the game is in snow) and getting attacks by huge white machines... Sorry that's all I got

-there is a chance that was published by Capcom....

Many thanks!

Is it Lost Planet?

The lack of Holocure on here is disappointing. I have no idea what Hololive even is, but Holocure is free, fun and has a pretty banging soundtrack. It also plays like a twin-stick shooter, which might be good or bad depending on how "auto" you want your ASS games to be

Most of my games are in physical form, but the Movie thing did worry me as someone who hasn't been able to buy a console since the 360 gen, and that's the only place I could buy Jodorowski's Dune. Fortunately I'm running a few Windows PCs, so that's still safe.

As for games: well, that is actually a total bummer. I think the real gems that would be lost were already delisted because of licensing (Outrun 2 and After Burner: Climax for example), but yeah, bummer anyway.

Do we see the same thing with Xbone games eventually or are those safe by virtue of playing natively on the Series and Microsoft will think of backwards compatibility going forward? They kinda have to based on their "last gen was when people went fully digital and locked in their libraries and platforms" comment, right?
