Yep, over the course of 15 hours I soft-locked dozens of times. Loved the game but man... it was rough. Froze during rituals while still taking my resources, enemies fell off the map and I got stuck, and all sorts of other weird stuff. These weren't funny glitches or something, they were game breaking (I was on the Series X).

Just mentioned this under the game mess video, since Saints Row's apparently super buggy but Cult of the Lamb has some of the most game-ending bugs I've experienced. Yet no one seemed to mention it in reviews? During the last few hours I just dealt with followers dying so I could get through the end.

@chaser324: Yeah, it basically feels like the Matrix lobby scene, the holy grail of the PS2 era.

I'm doing slow-mo flips with stuff blowing up all around me. I keep thinking of Neo doing his one-handed somersault while blasting.

@hakiroto: I don't think I hit a proper flow state til the last major tier. But now that I'm there, I'm basically flowing the entire time.

So the post game of Rollerdrome might be one of the best action games I've ever played.

I finished the campaign today and had a good time. Towards the end, it really stepped up in intensity, to the point where I went to some early levels to finish a few challenges and those felt super easy. I got to the last level, it was tense as hell, and I felt like an amazing rollerdromer (D ranks and all). Overall, a cool game that felt pretty content-light with a solid foundation for a sequel.

You unlock a post game mode, Out for Blood. It's basically the campaign again but way more difficult, there are no challenges, and there's no narrative stuff. It's a straight up action gauntlet with all your weapons and all the enemies. After the first level the trophy was "Welcome to Rollerdrome" and oh boy, this feels like the game they wanted to make. The campaign is basically a tutorial before you get to the real shit.

I was ready to put the game down after trying the first post game level, but I'm glad I stuck with it. You start to get a better feel for the mechanics and now this feels like the best parts of Tony Hawk, Max Payne, and that arena mode from Vanquish. Whereas my first couple of hours felt like I was flailing around and stumbling through, now every move is deliberate. Every weapon combo, every wall ride, and every health pick up needs to be on point. There's no down time and you're constantly under threat, but it feels completely fair. Like the title says, it's super good.

That's all I came here to say. Rollerdrome just went from a possible top 10 entry to one of my favorite games of the year. If you like a challenge and digging deep into a game's mechanics, this one can't be missed.

For as small as Ridge Racer was in scope, I played it over and over and over for years back in the day. Pretty much the only racing game I needed til Need for Speed III.

@thepanzini: It'll get campaign DLC. This is "the next 10 years of Halo" and it's one of their biggest franchises. I'm guessing it'll just be a Halo platform for all of their work, hence the name.

As a huge fan of Halo 5, Infinite continues to be a massive disappointment. I'll play it now and then during an event but it feels like more of an obligation. I'm there to make numbers go up since I don't really use the unlocks. Whereas warzone in 5 was something I came back to for years just because it was fun. Not to mention the half-baked campaign and reduced movement options.

I haven't gotten hostile to a game since like... Crash 3 having too many gimmicky levels compared to the perfection of Crash 2. But considering they had a cool story setup at the end of 5, with a solid multiplayer foundation and two great 343 campaigns in a row, man, Halo: Infinite sucks.

I couldn't believe how many reviews seemed to be "grappling hook is fun" while ignoring the step down in so many ways, from story to level design to multiplayer. Where did all that time and money go?

What if they turn the 8 on its side and it's Tekken Infinite?

That's what I figured. Tekken 7 went all out in most aspects, there's really not much more to add aside from tweaks. I can see it being an ultimate Tekken or something. Just adding stuff over time, just like Mario Kart 8/Infinite.

Though a part of me would like to see a Tekken Alpha, a new approach with gameplay and art that can set it apart from the main games and the tag tournaments.
