This brings me back to 2005 and playing this and Ridge Racer on the PSP. It was the only games I had because I had sold all my consoles before moving across the Atlantic.
I've only played the PSP rerelease of the first game and I was not a huge fan. Jeanne D'arc, FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre are more my thing. But I have been thinking of getting Disgaea 3 or 4 on Vita for some time but I would probably end up not liking it again. Nice to see the Switch becoming the new Vita. Now if only the Switch was cheaper. At 320 euro here it is too much for what I consider is a handheld. Especially when you can find the vastly more powerful XBOX One X for just 100 euro more here. I hope it drops to 200 euro at some point. (Prices converted from SEK to Euro since it is an easy 10-to-1 convertion)
I played this a lot on PC a decade ago. In fact I just yesterday started playing the Anniversary Edition again. It used to feel so modern compared to Diablo 2 but having played Diablo 3 since then it feels old school instead.
The story was interesting but I absolutely hated the gameplay. I'm not at all interested in a puzzle game. They should have made a Persona like dungeon crawler instead or just made a visual novel. I gave up even playing on easy it became too hard because I didn't want to learn the boring puzzle game mechanics I just wanted to skip it.
I'm so glad that Japanese games are popular again. It felt like they had all but gone away suring the last generation. Between 06 and 12 there were not many Japanese games to speak of and now they are so popular they are on PC. Awesome.
This game scared the crap out of 12 year old me. I am looking forward to this. RE2 was my first RE and in many ways the best. RE4 is the actual best because RE2 has bad controls but this seems to have similar controls to RE4 so might be perfect.
