That Ernest Cline poem reminds me of the bizarre Brian Wilson rap song where he raps about liking smart girls over various Beach Boy samples

While this is a dumb, embarrassing moment from an otherwise great artist - it's leaps and bounds more bearable than that "poem" which is so horrendous and pathetic it's not even funny anymore. Oh and Cline is a total hack anyway.
please no more cringe poems. that was the worst thing of all time.
on another note, I always thought Annihilation would be ripe for a video game adaptation if taken seriously. Could be a great solo and/or squad based run-based third person action game about going into the shimmer to slowly figure out the nature of it and discover and explore all of its secrets with each run. Obvious game influences being Hades/Spelunky/Noita, Remnant: From the Ashes, Dead Space, and Control. If given a reasonable budget and clever designers it could be something really special. Oh and the game would dutifully dodge those corny flashbacks about Natalie Portman's relationship, most of all as I'd hope it would be based on original characters in the same world but in a similar scenario.
I guess we have to add Grubb Rising (Advent Grubb?) to the list of potential future features along with RyckertBound and whatever else games they come up with that they haven't played yet.
Loving Jan’s camera minute. I’d definitely recommend the a7S III over the FX3, it’s cheaper and has that amazing viewfinder. If you do wanna save money you can always get the FX30, and then spend the remainder on a nice lens – which is always the most fun part.
The look on Dan and Jess' faces after Grubb's whistle strategy big reveal at the end was amazing.
Kind of shocking to me, the whistle run thing was like week one or two BotW tech, I used it a ton in my playthrough. Though it makes sense since Dan played a majority of the game before it came out. It is not as fast as regular sprinting but obviously it lasting indefinitely is a huge boon. Nintendo had the chance to patch it out multiple times and did not, though we will see with TotK if it stays or the controls are changed to make it impossible.
Imran was the MVP of this Bombcast, he's been on GB a few times before and always contributes so wonderfully - well spoken and informed. It's definitely a talent to keep conversations like these moving at the right pace and interesting. I hope him and all his former coworkers land on their feet very soon.
A Nuzlocke run on here sounds amazing...my vote is for Pokémon SoulSilver or FireRed. High quality remakes of classic games, easy to emulate, and not too complicated in terms of structure or extra mechanics. They have really good presentation (though FR you'll have to turn off the blue tutorial text stuff) and Jan can walk you through all the basics like setting text speed to fast and all the other little things about those games you won't remember to do. I think back then they even gave you a potion in your PC item box to begin with.
