Arcady is always better in my books. That being said, some games if they go too retro they lose substance and complexity which is not what I want. I like that sort of NFL Blitz or NFL Street sweet spot between Tecmo Bowl and Madden. Give me variety of plays and the depth of controls to have more to do in a game, but don't make all the unfun simulation stuff that slows the game down and makes it too realistic. The FIFA (and some of the Pro Evo) games sort of do this if you futz with the settings and speed the game up. Though some aspects of the game get wonky if you do this, like your teammate AI isn't designed around things being so quick, they can run into you or behave in a way that's nonsensical and awkward at times.

There's definitely a silent majority that want that super grounded, realistic sports game which is too bad. The NBA 2K games are just kind of unplayable to me. I like the idea of 5v5, current players and teams playing and working like they do in the real sport, as well as having the complexity to do different types of passes and shots, but not far beyond that I can't enjoy. These modern sports games feel as though they want to be complex in the way an Arma game is, not in the way a current Street Fighter game would be. That's why I fall back on games like Dunk Dream, it might not have real players or be that deep but it's far more fun to pick and play than the complex and clunky (in my eyes) 2K offerings.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, this demo is fantastic and an improvement on every way from the original as far as I can tell - from playing this demo and all the info on the main game that's been out pre-release. The original village section in RE4 is a pretty stress-free breeze to me (at least has been since every replay I've had of RE4, obviously as a kid it was crazy) and playing this demo a few times I'm already stressed and spooked about the chainsaw man getting me. Plus, ammo already feels more premium than in the original as well. I never really felt I had trouble conserving ammo in the original version, I always had enough to take on every combat encounter.
Sure, maybe some of the campy dialogue might be replaced but I'm sure it still has its goofy moments just like the RE2 remake (which overtook RE4 as my favorite RE game.) That being said, I see this as a sequel to that, not really trying to be 1:1 with the original game – part of the sequence of remakes of the classic four main Resident Evil games.

@thatpinguino: that Naruto game can’t be compared to Hogwarts Legacy though. There’s been actually quite a few good Naruto games since the 360 era. I’m not a fan of that franchise but I’ve enjoyed some of the games I’ve dabbled with from it. As far as I’ve known, there hasn’t been a remotely good Harry Potter game ever made besides the LEGO games. All of the licensed games that came out alongside the movies were…let’s say…compromised.

A property as massive as Harry Potter getting essentially its first proper triple A game ever, and it seems that it is at least pretty good is a big deal. Harry Potter fans will remember this game for sure.

Take a franchise like Star Wars – it’s had a ton of good games come out for it and people still speak about a game like Republic Commando now and wanting some kind of sequel even though as an FPS it’s pretty dated and limited in scope. You could go on with games like Battlefront, Jedi Knight, Tie Fighter, KotOR, Jedi: Fallen Order, etc. so many people have their favorites. With HP? Everyone’s options are wayyy more limited. I love GB’s hilarious quick looks of those old shitty movie tie-in games as much as anyone but that doesn’t magically make those games remotely good.

Seeing as how places like GB aren't covering it at all, plus all the generally controversy, it has become a morbid curiosity for me to see what it really is like for myself. Honestly if this had come out just as any other game with no baggage, I'd probably pass it up and probably not ever play it (unless it got like super rave reviews from everyone I know or follow) but because of this I can't help but want to try it out.

I always felt like Harry Potter fit a video game (of this type too) much better than a movie (I was never really a fan, the movies are okay at best), and all the initial previews looked good. I'll probably just end up playing it for myself sooner or later and swallowing my pride or whatever the term is.

I'mgoingtorefrainfromvoting because I never watched Fast and Furious after 2. I felt that was all there was needed. The world seems to think otherwise.

I will say I'm interested to see more of DMC 5. Skeptical, but interested.

Fast and Furious 3 and 5 and 9 are the best of the series easily and Devil May Cry 5 has been out for years now.
